All I know is that I asked my friend who played the game for about 25 hours, and agreed that this video basically points hout all that is wrong with it.
i don't thik the guy has the right to say it's a bad game when he didn't finish it...sure we can say whatever we want, free world and all (yeah right), but he can't know if he didn't finish it...
for example, everyone says crystal bearers is crap, i think it's crap too, but at least i played AND finished the game
sure, so far FF13 doesn't seem as amazing as i thought it would be, i waited almost 5 years till i had it in my hands and the story is not quite what i expected, but it has some good things to it *shrug* like every game
and i agree with you shade, nothing can be compared to ff7

Wow...I hate that guy XD I agree with Tsuki...no you cant review a game after only 5 hours gameplay....sorry...no its not efficant its just retarded XD
by the way you only use on average two clicks to hit an enime....there is no drop down menu in this game because your characters are smart and know what attacks are gonna work if you scanned them or if they've fought them before. So unless you get later into the game (much later then 5 hours) and start using stuff like death or other techniques that they wont do in auto then that point in his little "review" sucks. The real challenge in the game play was using your jobs correctly. Though if stuff like that and drop down menus with different commands was too difficult for him, then yes maybe he should just stick to button mashing....after all we wouldnt wanna put any thought into it would we?
I cant say he made any good points in his "review" except for the areas being very linear until you reach pulse...at least I didnt think so....yeah you did have to wait a while to put the story together...and no you didnt have to read any of that stuff they gave you....I didnt and I understand the story just fine. Perhaps if he would have played more than 5 hours....wich has to be at least only 1/4 of the game...because no one is finishing this in 20....and 20hrs is giving people a lot of credit I'd say this thing probably takes at least 60....then maybe he wouldnt sound like such a douche reviewing it.

changing the ai behavior in the paradigm system first of all makes the battles fast pased not slow as he had a problem with for no reason
secondly yes you only directly control your main characters every attack but the paradigm system DOES give you control over what the rest of the party does.
yes if this was modern warfare then it wouldnt be an rpg...which is what it is...why are we reviewing an rpg and comparing it with an fps?

I found it hard to get back into the game after having a week off etc. because I didn't understand why I was walking down this reactor thing, it wasn't explained very well. Mind you, I still liked the presentation because it made you feel like you were immersed in the world, that you are there with them, but it made it super hard for people who didn't devote most of their day to this game. Which is why I restarted my game once I got into holidays because it was impossible to enjoy otherwise. (Because even later in the game they still talk with such brevity that you have got to know what they're talking about or else you're lost again, so you read the datalogs. XD But this is a game, not a book)
I agree very strongly with the Hope "consistency". He looks hopeless, no pun, and yet is as strong as any other character in battle mode, or so it seems lol

All game review places know this. Any Square Enix game that gets reviewed will always get hate mail because Square devotees are the biggest fanpeople in the gaming world. And this only makes publicity for the reviewer's website or show. KH or FF fans, both get so riled up over the smallest criticism XD
EDIT: Also, this criticism is usually justified because the person making it has probably played games other than FF or KH, unlike some people XD. I guess they say ignorance is bliss -.-

you took time off and found it hard to get back into the game?....that happens to me with any game i leave alone for a long amount of time XD nothing to do with the story
i never got lost in the story, i never found it confusing and i didnt need the datalogues although it is good that they are there to go deeper into the story and helo explain it for people if they do decide to stop playing for a while i had days inbetween a few times and i only played a few hours most of the time thats why it took me so damn long XD
as for havign to know what they are talkign about after leaving for a while
1: i dodnt think they set up the story to be so simple someone who left for a while forgot and
2: have some freakin memory XD

I agree with the shaky camera, the footsteps, the bunch of characters that always seem to be the same. (serious one, ethnic one, energetic happy one, big tall tough guy etc) It is always the same in FF's.
i didnt notice the shaky camra but well i didnt play it in a wqhile XD
footsteps never bothered me...i think thats just opicky XD

when you cover that many personalities there arent much more besides variations of the general ones XD

I didn't take time off and restart the game btw. I meant that I was playing the game maybe once a night or every second night, and I started getting lost in the story. So I decided that I'd start again from a point in the game once I got to the holidays lol
There are many variations, I think FF12 is one example where all the characters were original. Minus any Star Wars references. XD

The main point of all his reviews are to focus on the bad parts of a game. Why? Don't you find that there are so many reviewers out there that only end up sucking up to thier games as if they were being bribed to promote it? It seems everyone just wants to be nice to a game and "sell" it.
This guy is famous for his reviews so most people who watch it tend to be really forgiving. If he doesn't attack a game too much, then you could still easily enjoy it if you're already into the series. He himself has admitted several times to despising JRPGs, but the point is that it's nice to hear a review that says things, things that are still well explained, different than all the other "multiple" opinions (Well I guess 1 is a multiple of itself).
