good job on reviving a dead topic cangri XD
well, i beat him like this (that is, if you're still trying Kai-san)
cast slow and poison (level 2 if you have it) on him, cast regen and big guard on yourself
equip counter materia so you can counter attack (sometimes) when he attacks you, try not using summons cos they take way too long, specially KotR. cast magic hammer on him until he goes low on MP and can't heal himself anymore, then you keep attacking him physically and you'll beat him no problem
just a piece of advice, if you fight him try to be level 30 or higher, if you are low leveled it can be quite a headache  if you do this you should get the secret items (lol) during disc 1.
oh, and here you have a lil tip

I dont know why he does it the way he does. Maybe he keeps them incase for some reason something new is found about the topic and it NEEDS to be brought back up instead of creating a new topic. *shrugs* I guess you would have to PM him about it if you really wanted to know.
