You know this feeling?
It's just typical, isn't it? While I was having computer problems and thus was unable to get online I wanted to play some PS2 instead. I decided on continuing my saved game of 'Star Ocean: Till the End of Time', placed the Memory Card in the slot, turned it on and everything was great...
Until that damn game tells me there is no memory card in the slot and I soon finds out it has somehow been corrupted/broken/whatever - Bye, bye all my beloved save-files. Mind you, that was the M.C. I regard(ed) as my most important one among all my M.C.... (almost) all my Fighting Games saves (Soul Calibur II and III, Mortal Kombat DA, Mortal Kombat D and Mortal Kombat A) and some other pretty important ones (like my Mercenaries file -.-; ) are gone with the wind.
The most weird thing about it all is that my feelings are mixed - Of course I'm annoyed about loosing all those save-files AND, as a result, having lost many, many, many hours on getting through them and obtain every little secret in games like those. That is only natural - but I also discovered how little it actually meant. I mean, I even regard some of the loses with a sort of happy 'starting-over'-attitude, while others I just hate thinking about (Like getting all the secrets of MKDA again )
I'm just happy it wasn't the M.C. where I keep my FF- and KH-files

Ive had that happen to me before. Your memory card isnt a max memory one is it by any chance because mine corrupted on me once. For important files I just use the official card now which seems to never fail.

One time, my PS1 memory card corrupted on me, and all I could think was, "Oh crap!". I was so mad because it held all of my PS1 FF data, LoD, everything.
Then something strange happened, the next time I turned on my system and went to play a game, all of the memory was back, and now I've had no further problems with that memory card.
The bad news about that incident a couple of years ago, my PS1 broke for good a week later after the M.C incident.

I know the feeling. I've had people delete data on my memory card before. I really don't care that much but at the same time I think about all that wasted effort.

No and that is the most disturbing fact of all - It was an official one, and whenever I try to access it, it 'opens' up the normal screen but without anything and the counter in the corner states '0 KB free' and some sort of error message (I think.... been a while since the accident since I tried it).

evil, indeed.... I started playing it yesterday (The Story Mode) and I actually felt a bit... bored... which is bad, because it'll only be a 'chore' if I try to beat it now, and I'll loose that very special feeling of fun and excitement

Ugh, I hate games that feel like chores, like whenever you have to go through a very long FF dungeon, and the battles take like a year lol.

I hate that too, it is very annoying. It makes me not want to play that game when they make dungeons like that.

I know the feeling Cim. My Memory Stick that I use for my PSP recently started playing up when I put it in my pc to put some music on it. It didn't read initially so I pulled it out and put it back in again, ended some programs and viola all my stuff from the Stick was wiped off, including all my PSP game saves, most notably Tales of Eternia which i was 20 hours in.
Well, I guess I'll just have to play it again.
Not only that but today I was at uni and using MATLAB (dunno if anyone uses that too), and it kind of froze when I tried to open another m-file while the other was still running (not quite sure) so I ended the program lol and bam, the file directory from where my m-files were kept are totally gone. I'm just lucky I had some extra's saved on my USB or else I would've been stuffed.
DC you're right, some dungeons are just at that level which make them more annoying than challenging and are a pain when you have to do it again.

What's even more annoying is when you come across enemies who you have to use magic against and waste MP lol.

Hahaha yeah, I often get rather paranoid when both my HP and MP is pretty low in a dungeon... 'Where's the exit? WHERE's the exit?'
