xbox update:games on demaned!

great idea, sept there are a few problemss with this.

1. i cannot return a game if it sucks, or for any oher reason....ya no bueno!

2.it takes up a decent amount of space on a hardrive....soo ya.....could cause some problems.

3.the games are overpriced. by allot. bishock is 10$ more then it is at gamestop, and call of duty 2 is 29.99....really?(US currency, btw.) is it like a convenience charge like they gip you when you buy concert tickets?

perfect dark zero is also 20$....i see on amazon.com tht it is 17$ new (i didnt see a new version on gamestop, bu i saw a used for 5$.) so ya....i think thts a big rip off.

unless oblivion comes with DLC already in it, which it does not say....so i assume it does not.

my problem with that is there is no longer any kind of manufacturing fee. no case to make, no disc, nothing to ship. its all online. So it should be cheaper as a download by at least a little than the game new in retail.

the thing i wonder about is, we know a publisher/developer gets no money from a used game sale at gamestop, but what are they getting from this? something i would assume right? so thats good.

if the prices drop, or at the least varied more so it would accurately reflect the games value, it would be worth it.

also the hard drive space is a bit of a problem. an expensive problem from what i hear.

How much space is your average game? I got the 120GB Elite so this is appealing to me. Plus I'd be able to buy games drunk at 2am on a Friday night/Saturday morning without leaving my apartment Very Happy

Rex is right, they should be cheaper. no manual either, or any onuses the game might come with....such as a map..[i think oblivion has a map with i, not sure.] i know gta4 has a map with it.

plus whta if the game you buy is really good, now you don't ave it in your lilgame collection of games you dont sell. well tht might be just me i like my games somewhat orginized xD.

it would prob be oblivion if any game and tht was around 5gigs of space, so tht would bring me down to almos 30, which is alright. but i like to have a case, manual and what not, even tho i don't read the manual.

well actually... i have no idea about 360, but i believe every downloadable game on the psn and from the wii shop channel have manuals. but even that is still saving money. no paper, no ink, so you can even further lower the price than what i thought before lol.

Yeah the price for dl games in Aus is down right ridiculous, don't know about you guys. But I bought Mass Effect a year ago for $70, it's online for download at $99 now lol
They should be cheaper since it's only a download.

I know. A friend went over to the USA recently, and even beer is way cheaper in the US. It's taxed a bit here, mostly because people drink beer for breakfast, lunch and dinner but still. lol

*cough cough*
anyway.

well they have online manuals for all the games on demaned, but i meant physical that you can touch with the paper and the ink

and god damn

i would not spend 70 on a game....unless thts considered discounted in aus. here an old game goes for 20, and a new game 60. 60 dollars used is 55, and old used is 17.

around those numbers, some games are different, like the full guitar hero bundle and stuff like tht.

It all depends on how you look @ it.... a game on my HDD doesn't use my optical drive, so that lasts longer, I can load it on any console, so I can play on mine & kids can play the same game on theirs, instead of having to buy 2 discs.... I've bought a couple of games, but that's because they were about what I'd pay if I bought them new.... and I don't have to worry about discs getting scratched.... all in all... works for me....
