Xbox Classic RPG's

just bought Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 1&2 from ebay for the xbox. im going to have a LAN party where we play the old RPG's from the xbox in a row. see how many we can get through before we crash.

heres a list of our games (multiplayer requirement, so no fable sadly)
Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance
Baldurs Gate Dark Alliance 2
Hunter the Reconing
Hunter the Reconing Redemption (its not BCable so have to lug out the old original Xbox)
Dungeons and Dragons Heroes

there werent too many multiplayer RPG's for the xbox, but those are the ones we know. so we'll probably move on from there if we are still awake to a new title like Too Human or something.

i originally played DA1 on the PS2, man that was a crazy game. not as good as the PC, but completely different, at the time i was always thinking "not as good as PC"
yet i have fond memories from playing the game.

there was a live video podcast thingy where two guys played through all the mario games in one weekend. all of them.

they did it with a ton of time to spare (they alternated of course)

i assume thats the kind fo thing thor will do.

doesnt say all that much. i did a speed run of mario 64 in just under 3 hours.

and i dare anyone to try and beat zelda: OoF in 7 hours.

it cant be done. a friend insists it can be even though we have tried and failed multiple times.

its like 5 hours to get out of midgar on a really good day. at least another 5 to the end of disc one. and then id say another 10 hours min for the second disc and the third is just a matter of getting through the crater with your characters that are probably really low levels.

thats the aim.
im not sure if it will happen now after talking with the group. we might just have to plow through them one a night (or a series a night or something)

the Baldurs gate PC games are like 80 hours each with expansion. they are truly epic RPG's. and i will admit, i have yet to beat them despite them being my proclaimed favorite RPG of all time.

the console games if i remember correctly are siginificantly shorter. like in the range of 8 hours or so. i imagine it will be 5-6 hours in multiplayer, if even that.

i havent beaten it since it came out, but 8ish hours seems about right. my fav part was being able to import (?) charters you already beat the game with into a new game and just gave your awesome stuff to the newb guy lol. it made for awesomeness.

That's why it's a rumour. It's not true.

Good luck with completing Baldur's Gate Dark Alliance 1 and 2. Come to think of it, I've almost completed the first Dark Alliance. Laughing

i also ordered Demon Stone. another D&D Forgotten Realms RPG for the consoles. its 1 player though, but i figure i might as well go though the Xbox BC list and buy the ones i want on ebay for cheap.

actually, i got the Baldur's gate dark alliance 1&2 on ebay. bid on Heroes ($15)
i also bid on Demon Stone, Blood Omen 2 ($6), Sands of time($5). and Too Human ($27)

man, this old Xbox project got me loving ebay again.
