Even though the game was wonderful for an old FFVII bag like me... I think Square let us down again. Another sequel in the can. </3 (*sorry FFX-2!*)

I haven't played the game, but the preview that Playstation2Magazine had in one of their version, suggested that it was a failure... sadly, it's seems Square still has much to learn, making other games than RPG...

well said!
And think it can either go two ways for the game:
1. it becomes a Platinum, just because it's a FFVII-sequel-game. OR
2. it becomes one of those low-price games that forever and ever lays in the "Low-Price" bucket in every supermarket...

I thought the game had good potential, but in the long run...the game play itself lacked the quality that it could have had. BUT The option of being able to mix and match to customize your guns was pretty cool.
It was cool to be able to see the characters again, it had me excited as hell. ( even though the cutsceans pumped me up more than the gameplay)
but i didnt think it was a good idea to release a game based on a SECRET character of the final fantasy 7 game. I would have much rather seen cloud have is own game be4 Vincent, even thoe i am a fan of Vincent...he just wasnt as much of a role in the ff7 empire that squareenix built..apose to other characters
If they were to make another ff7 sequal...they should make it liek X-men legends...up to 4 players and chose your charcter..and just kick some ass lol
I just had to edit this to say......i forgot to add my view if its worth buying or not....id wait till it dropped in price then buy it just to add to your collection of owning the final fantasy games lmao

My friend owns this and claims it rules, then again he's never played any ff except X and Dawn of Souls, so he still has much to learn. He doesn't believe me that most ppl say it isn't worth the cash.
IMO, its a rent or, if your friend has it, just barrow it from him/her. After you beat it, you'll probably never play it again, unless you got bored with Animal Crossing(that's a burn, btw )

Fate is an illusion, a prediction. The present, now that is real. Fate, in a sense, does not exist until you make it reality.

And maybe lots of people think the game is crap, but if he likes it is his case! I also like games which most people (okay, gamesites then) consider abeing not so good. Like "Under the Skin" to PS2!

I like games that actually have a steadfast storyline, no matter who likes them. Some games which ppl love(katamari is a great example) are very boring to me cuz they have no freaking storyline.

I know what you mean... I do play games that have no storyline (like soccergames, that has some objectives in their League-games) but I still love games with a good storyline... RPGs, but also other games (Fighting-games in particular).

DoC took me 11 hours to beat, BIG DISSAPOINTMENT. The graphics were great, the cutscenes were amazing, the story was even pretty darn good, the controls/gameplay SUCKED. the least you could do is give me halo gameplay. Reticle was too fidgety. Overall i give the game a 5 out of 10. Not worth buying, definetely a rental. unfortunately I've already wasted the money on buying it so It's going right back to the store to see if I can take some of the hit off my wallet.

Wow...I liked it and I have played quiet a few ff games. True it in now way compared with the final fantasys before it but I really didnt expect it to. I mean it was a shooter. I thought it was fun seeing some of Vincents past. Lol guess I was the only one who liked it.

Don't get me wrong, I very much enjoyed what there was. BUT, there was no exploration, it wasn't as rpg as I would've like it, I didn't like the exp system, and the BIG one : You shouldn't be able to beat a video game nowadays in 11 hours, especially not a FF ... and I had no idea what I was doing half the time, I'd imagine I could beat in probably 7 or 8 if I played it again.
