In my opinion, hell yes 
I liked the world map a lot, I canīt really imagine an FF game without a world map.

I liked the map in FF8 cause u can have it rite beside u wen ur trying to find places like when ur looking for Galbadia Garden and Trabia,...That took me ages even with the walktrou!

Definitely put it back.If you do you shuold also work on be able to meet NPCs so you can get quests,and this will actually be an RPG.
