I think it will.
It's a prototype at the moment. And there is also an add-on accessory, so you can use a mini controller too, you would'nt have to use the motion-sensitive controller all the time.
If the price is right and if there's enough exposure or advertising then the controller/console will do well

Oh it will do well. I believe a better question is...how many games are willing to be Nintendo exclusives just for it to do well?
Hmm...
Well since GTA is pretty much on the red spot for an A rating, hmm... they could make a GTA with actual black coffee already in it and have a mini game where the controller is used as a masturbating stick. That'll tell all those Nintendo bashers that the Revolution isn't a kiddie console.
Another one is what alot have suggested and is using the controller like a lightsaber in a Star Wars game.
Another one would be using the controller to control a hand and use it for tactical games like waving a teammate to move over there in games like Rainbow Six or as a hand slapping a mosquito in a Mr. Mosquito side game.
It will also be a good controller to hit your son on the head who keeps playing when you want him to do some chores.
Other than that, I don't see much success for it. It would have been good if Nintendo attracted alot of developers to the Gamecube and then made the Revolution controller available.
As it stands, it will do well for the few quality games made by Nintendo especially on a Zelda game and a Metroid game (the controller works well for those futuristic looking guns in Metroid,Star Trek and Andromeda)
Most other company will stray away from it and Nintendo will attract the rest of the buyers with backwards compatibility and DS.

I think a lot of companies will go to it but they'll make stupid games.
I remember reading that the revoluton also has Gamecube controller ports. So maybe some games will still use that controller?

Yep, it will use the gamecube controller too however you'll hardly attract anyone that way when the ps2 and x box 360 are all generating greater graphics and have anti-piracy system which means more sales for the developers and less pirated dvds/whatever type of disc they are using

Yeah having good graphics can really be attractive, so Sony and Xbox will still be on the front foot. But Nintendo said something like how they don't want to be in the same race that Xbox and Playstation are (even though people wil still compare the systems).

I think that statement, whoever Nintendo employer/people say that is a bunch of BS.
If they really weren't racing with the two others, they could as well have just released Gamecube with all these peripherals since there's nothing wrong with the graphic power of the GC in the first place.
They could still have the GBA and maybe say add a touch screen add-on or mod to it like they did with the GBA - GBA SP
Instead of GBA- GBA SP (which was wholly unnecessary if they weren't money mongers) -DS
There was no reason to make a GBA SP if they were going to release the DS anyway.
We all know large companies can be money mongers and swallow the poor to middle class but for a guy from Nintendo even claiming that they aren't on a race when they're racing with the PS3 and X-box 360 by releasing the Revolution.
That's just contradictory.
That's just pure marketing BS.
That's just an excuse to draw all the Nintendo fanboys to give it chance when it's clear that they're losing left and right to Sony and Microsoft.
