Why is it called final Fantasy
I'd like to know if anyone knows why it is called final fantasy

The explanation can be found at 'Did you know' topic posted earlier. But, I'm gonna explain either way lolz. Ok,there was this unfamiliar Japanese gamer company named Squaresoft in the early 90's. Their sales are pretty pathetic compare to other competitors like Konami,Interactive,etc. So they decided to gamble a set of RPG game as their last resort. They named this last resort Final Fantasy,hoping the games will change the company's future. However,despite the production of Final Fantasy 1-6,the sales keep dropping and the company ain't gaining any good profits. Their fate changed when Tetsuya Nomura created Final Fantasy 7,the sales gone crazy,almost whole over da globe went camping at game counters after the japanese version hit the Japan gamer series. Despite their 6th consecutive failure,Final Fantasy 7 saved em,so they decided to continue the series (got motivated). And so the series kept on increasing Squaresoft popularity and soon they join forces wif Enix and now its call Square Enix. That's the explanation on how Final Fantasy was created and their big debut to Squaresoft and us gamers  .

Actually . . .
Squaresoft was a failing company in the '80s that decided to create one last game, that being the original Final Fantasy. It was final because Square thought it would be their last since they feared bankruptcy. When they game came out for the NES, gamers were delighted and the game itself revolutionized RPGs with its different classes and ability to have a party of 4 characters (unlike other rpgs like Zelda). It was that first game that motivated them, not Nomura. Actually, Nomura is sort of ruining the franchise with his J-Rock inspired crap . . .
The final part in the name stuck because . . . well thats just how it is.

actually, the first final fantasy games sold pretty well, well, except for final fantasy I but, people found the rpg different, and people didnt accept it at first, but, when squaresoft made final fantasy II people started getting used to the rpg genre, and, when they made final fantasy III it just started picking up pace, and when final fantasy VII came out, boom! the final fantasy games started to become almost literally ripped off every shelf... by the way, the dragon warrior monster games also helped in making the rpg genre a success, which, of course, final fantasy games were and are rpgs...

I don't know, but I think it was called SquareSoft during X, wasn't it? I kept thinking it couldn't decide what name it should stick with, but I like Enix better.

actually, ithink it was called square, icant remember, but, ikno this, thank you who ever made final fantasy work, for allowing kingdom hearts: chain of memories, to be made, and hav cloud usin omni-slash, cross slash, and warp cross slash!

ya warp cross slash, its a sleight, u use let me think, hmm, oya! ibelieve u use the cards in this order, either stop or gravity (one of them, cant remember which), then two cloud cards, stock em' and let em rip! there ya go! cloud warps over to an enemy, and cross slashes em'!
