Why doesnt FF series allow you to max out anymore?

I remember in the eariler versions of Final Fantasy you could completely max out every single stat, or have just about every single spell and feature for every character, why dont they allow that anymore? It would have been cool in FF X-2 if once you mastered something you automatically had that option available regardless of which dressphere you were wearing.

Probably because they didn't want you to have 3 or more characters that all could do the same thing.. kinda like in FFX.. when if you complete the entire grid.. the characters are all the same.

Well not even FF X could max out every single stat, and why the restrictions anyway? If we wish to max out our stats and enjoy the game, why shouldnt we be allowed to do so?

Actually, that's not true, most FF games you CAN'T max out every stat, the only games I can even think of that you can are FFVII and FFVIII

Yeah but then where is the challenge and the constant strategy of trying to figure out how to align your party for each battle.

actually, once you finish the sphere grid with everyone, you can buy items that make the nodes blank, then you can put anything you want on the shpere grid (of course with the right items... which you can earn in the monster arena thing if im not mistaken) so you can max out all the stats... besides luck, but it takes forever

because it takes time when casting....if your max out you can just use attack and kill them in one shot..and it will save a lot of your time...
