Why didn't anyone ever tell me this?: Why Cloud is best.
Ok. Before I had ever played FF7 I would have said, ignorantly, that Squall is the best person from any Final Fantasy game. My reasoning would have been the gunblade. But true and noble a weapon though it is, despite its awesome power and ferocity, despite how enemies should despair at the sight of it and fall on their knees and beg...Cloud, who does not wield it but a lesser, though larger, Buster Blade, still is now, in my eyes the best character of all final fantasy characters, well male character at least. One person may ask, why, pinata, why do you think that Cloud is the best? Is it his tough style? Is it his hard outer shell at the beginning? No, my friends, no, the reason that I have found a reason so powerful, so mind blowing, so amazing to teh pinata that she has gone Cloud crazy is
this!

I did play FFIX but that doesn't count because he doesn't have to act like a girl and I don't know if anyone acknowledges that he looks like a girl during game. He is just a sadly oblivious would-be-uke.

You are missing the pinata's point...
Though that is a valid point of your own...
Cloud is the only FF character that actually did dress as a woman when he was in fact a man, and after all that toughness acting and talking.

I dont agree with the Zidane bit...I always knew he was a dude...and dont even think he looks like a girl XD
However what Egam said about Kuja doesnt seem far off...I mean really who is he trying to kid? XD
and yeah that kid from FFXI takes the cake...sure you can blame his voice on account of him not hitting puberty....but his posture is his own decision XD

It's just a rumour that the original plans were to make Kuja female. There's never been any confirmation from Square that Kuja was meant to be a woman.
I never thought that Zidane or Kuja were female the first time I played FF IX.
