its mind blowing...hasnt got the in depth story of the game, but the action and animation is astonishing- a truly amazing movie that HAS to be seen. watch it as soon as possible (as far as the last half hour of the film goes, i reckon that when jesus was on earth, he created that fight scene just to put in advent children Very Happy)

p.s sorry if ive over exaggerated the film lol...basically though, it was worth the wait, so check it out

Yeah it truly is an awesome movie, but i do beleive that if they had of put more time into it then they could have made it longer, and maybe a bit more action.

No one else mentions this but the camera angles ruined it for me. The camera randomly jumped in 50 different positions every millisecond so I had no idea what I was looking at. I was expecting for this movie to blow me away since I love everything about FFVII, but it didn't. However I understand how other people can love it since I have high expectations and am only impressed with perfection.

I posted a review here:

directors do that when they want to make an action scene more dramatic than it really is.

as for my own opinion, i saw the movie first in japanese with english subs and i didnt like it at all. i then saw it in english and it was better and then i replayed ff7 then watched the movie and the story seemed to fit together better. i must have missed a few things in the game and thus the story of the film didnt seem to work, but it does. ff7 (the game) had so much depth and the movie wasnt on par with it, but they did think things out.

Yes I understand the reasoning but there is a difference between skillfully executing a task to cause confusion and increased intensity for the viewer and just throwing the camera around. If you want a good example of great camera movement go watch the movie Unleashed.

Yes an animation should be easier since you have more tools at your disposal instead of physically hauling around a camera. That is what the SE staff said while making this movie at how they could show camera movements that "regular movies" cannot do.

well my point is that instead of increases the action (aka more animations in advent children) they just took the same actions and trey the camera around (they took a short cut)
