Are you two copying me, perchance? After I put a list of FF games I need to complete in my siggy you both seemed to add them in yours as well. 
Anyway, the movie was slightly above average. They kept to the game as far as staying in the same world with the same good guys and same bad guy. Other than that, they add three villains from nowhere (as I have said time and time again), throw in a battle between Sephiroth and Cloud who are two of the most popular characters in any FF, and threw it together to make a storyline which vaguely follows the original game. following on from that, I don't want a remake of FF VII for that very reason. They're going to change it to suit the changed parts in AC. Really, they're just milking as much money as possible from the fans. All they need to do is throw Darth Vader and Yoda into the remake and they'd get money from all the Star Wars fans as well *cough*Soulcalibur IV*cough*.
Moving on from that rant, the film is good if you consider it as being separate from some of the events in the actual game, Dirge of Cerberus only existed because Vincent has a huge fan-girl following to milk money out of but was surprisingly good for a third person shooter, and I didn't bother playing Crisis Core because I already know the events before the actual game. They did a huge * sequence. The bits I don't know from the game were put into a very short anime called FF VII: Last Order (Zack and Cloud escaping Shinra house and going to become SOLDIER). As far as I'm concerned Crisis Core was milking money from both the obsessive fans and possibly gratitude from Sony for saving their handheld which was obviously failing since there so few games worth buying it for (actually, the only one worth buying is the FF Tactics remake, but that's only if you don't own the original FFT).

Really good movie. It is on an ex-mercenary is forced out of isolation when three mysterious men kidnap and brainwash the city's children afflicted with the Geostigma disease.
