who here owns a ps3?
im in uk so wont have the chance to see one till a while- but who in other countries owns one?
whats it like...the games..the look...the feel of it..the packaging.
basically, has it lived up to the hype in these early days of the gaming war?

I had one. Sold it. and as for the packaging, it's cardboard. the system itself weighs about the same as an original Xbox. Hope this helps.

i think the main reason nintendo's consoles (wii) will always be better than sony's (ps3) is because all nintendo's consoles are gonna be intended for home multiplaying experience.
i mean its not like im a psychic lol but i really think nintendo and sony ll still be fighting this war for.... lol milenias O.o (rofl jj) (unless Sony lowers its prices lol, thend itd be over in a sec, but thats not happening )
someday there will be 2 countries, Nintendia, and Sonni (rofl)
fighting for the supremacy of our world, now named Cash (lol)

gamecube was kind of a disappointment.
but the Wii is freaking amazing, its the ONLY next-gen console without the next-gen graphics that im calling Next-gen.

The thing is though, PS was originally designed by nintendo and was being made by sony to keep up with sega, but when the Genesis failed, Nintendo said screw you sony, and abandoned the project. Sony picked it back up and finished making it, and called it theirs.
So, if you think about it, bad karma is finally catching up to sony, and their getting screwed in the ass with the failure of the PS3. stupid sony.

lol you are right thor. i started thinking the games sucked coz of the graphs but o well. i can put up with it.
besides i think its gonna keep being superior coz of the home multiplaying experience but i know most ppl on their adulthood laking the time to go to a friend's house or having they come over. . . .well they might has well get another console : p i think thats the main reason why wii wont get has many sells has ps3. but i still feel its a bit superior. (but hell i want to play ps3 games too >.<)

but sony deserve to win over pompous nintendo due to the fact that nintendo were being arsy towards sony (and pretty much everyone in general) in the past..they are paying for their big headedness.
the wii is nintendo's attempt to crawl back from the gutter they were thrown down during the ps and n64 war (lol, controversial comments XD)

Wow those are controversial comments.
I do agree Sony deserve to win though. For me its really because Nintendo seem to never take risks and always make consoles that make them huge profits. At least Sonys trying to advance gaming.
Nintendo were hardly thrown in the gutter in the Playstation V N64 war. They were never in the war to begin with. I remember the N64 coming out 2 years after the Playstation and no one cared about it.
Then again Nintendo have never dominated in England. they lost with the Snes and got beat by the Megadrive.
Hopefully it will happen with the Wii.

How the hell do you consider the PS3 a failure? It hasn't even been out a month...

Better graphics, better online, and an all around better system
The Wii bores me, the only game i've even remotely liked so far is Twilight Princess and not enough to convince me the Wii is a good system. It's graphics are an average XBOX game graphics at best.
Normally, my opinion is not largely based on graphics, but we are moving into new times and the improvements for systems have always been based on a few things:Graphics, improved gameplay, better hardware, online access(recently), and multi-media functions-the games are also an important factor, but I'm just talking about the system itself
The Wii obviously does not have improved graphics.
It's gameplay is controversial on whether it's actually an improvement or not.
It has better hardware, but nowhere near as good as PS3 or XBOX 360.
It has very little and very crappy online functions.
I have heard very little of it's multi-media functions
The Wii is an overall failure. Some interesting, innovative, and new gameplay is not enough to carry a system to greatness. Once the excitement and hype wear off, disappointment and annoyance will set in.

pompous Nintendo? they were an ass to developers during the SNES and very early N64 days. but they deserved it, they were the king. they dominated the industry. unfortunately it got to their head and the developers suffered. then sony came in and offered a cheap console that had low royalties compared to Nintendo.
when you consider how Sony is now the arrogant and "pompous" company since they seem to think they can sell a bag of bricks for mass amounts of money and label them with the "PS" logo and STILL have them sell out.. i would consider them just as pompous. or even more so than Nintendo or Microsoft has ever shown to game developers.

i don't feel that sony deserves to win this "war" simply because they are NOT innovating or changing gaming. they are putting out the same thing they had before with new formats that were created with the sole-purpose of making sony money. i don't see sony advancing gaming at all. in fact i seem them standing still. while with Microsoft's 360 they are moving forward in a multi-player and online aspect. the wii is moving forward in a user-controllable and simplistic design aimed at gaming for everyone.
can you name one thing about the PS3 that screams "Progressive to Gaming"? i sure as hell cant.
