it was one of the longer ff games back then. rivaling rpgs now in length if my memory serves me.
the first time i played through i thought i got to the end, but it was really more like the half way mark lol.

Well I got it on PS1 with FF4 as part of the PAL rerelease of FF Anthology. I have to say of the two I preferred FF5. there was much more too it plus i could actually get attached to the characters. at least they werent always dying off or swapping sides all the time (Stupid Kain lol)
PLus the job system was good let you customise the characters and make them more flexible.

I thought it was good. It had a half decent story, plus one of the few games whose job system allowed you to mix and match. A plus. C'mon, you can tell me you never had a White Mage weild the Excalibur, lol.

I finish the game with honors, but the time on the game not is true, mi saved data says 79 hours and i guess sou abouth of a 200Hours,i play in the FF Antology of PSX(the cinematics are decent, and the history is too abrumated, but is a FF and i cant dont play one.

I play from cartridge (SFC) and now i still play in emultor .
for me i like job system and story line in this game more new game with nice graphic.
