Yeah that is what made other FF games seems so huge. In fact that is what was really cool about FFII you could even fly to another planet!

| FFVII by far, it had no flaws that I could think of. FFX had the bad voice acting and the somewhat linear levels that makes it fall behind FFVII. Plus VII is still the only game today that had music to totally describe the environment, today's games just have music going in the background as something extra, VII used music to apply emotion and a real atmosphere. |
actually i dont think so >.< f 10 got really close but didnt make it beacause of the mapping, too much walking, little fighting and little npcs to talk with, wich didnt say much too interesting things.... also had a reduced number of maps in comparition.
FF9 came even closer i think.... except 4 the npcs again, wich didnt say much 2 interesting stuff.. and the "slow" battles, i think ff7 had the fastest battle motions n stuff.... or sometin that made battles way faster.
If anyone thinks ff10 was about graphs its cause they aint seen ff12, it could have been way better. I really liked ff10's sistem, the only prob for me was that the game ended before i could even begin to "milk the sistem" [ im still lmao about the leg weapons in ff10, even now xD)
But yhea... the best is still ff7 (not that i played ff online)
ps: i hated it when i played ff CC, how could they have sold the rights to nintendo.... it was an awesome game, but it didnt had the true "ff spirit" it had lots of things missing.... and there were a LOT of monsters way stronger than behemots.... that's just wrong...
ps2: all the events are linear in ff, but yhea, ev ff seems to be coming way closer to the last one, since ff6.

I am even surprised that Nintendo has a console, wouldn't they make more money if they developed for Sony and Xbox as well? Because there are some really great games on the GC and when I ask others if they have played them they usually say that they do not have a GC.
So it is too bad that they are missing out on great games that only die hard nintendo fanboys would play heh. Especially RE4 that game was amazing, it had gameplay, action, unique new camera angle that rocked, replay value, music, I loved that game. But yeah it is amazing how they started out with the NES then moved to Sony since they offered CD support when Nintendo didn't, and them going back to Nintendo for CC was weird even though that is the company the game started with.

I never played FFVII so my opinion is limited. In FFX though they seemed to have a completly upfront storyline. There was no underlining plot or any big twists other that "Yuna is going to die."

'lo im new, and im gonna have to agree with everyone on this, FFVII was far better than FFX, the storyline blew me away, especially when sephiroth is telling u that u are a failed expirement, the amount of emotion and depth in the game made it far more superior, and FFX went even more downhill with FFX 2 as that felt like u where playing dress up with a bit of fighting
