what's gonna happen to XIII?
hey guys! i visited gameplanet (the store where i usually buy mah games) and apparently, FFXIII versus is gonna be released the same day FFXIII and agito...but is this good? or bad? oooor neither? do you think some games will be ignored? probably this one and agito...what do you think?

different stories, there's THE FFXIII, with Lightning as the main character (XBox 306 and PS3), then there's FF versus XIII, centered in a young prince named Noctis (don't know much more, PS3 exclusive) and finally, FF agito XIII (for the psp) don't know a thing about this, except it's a card system of sorts...or so i read XD

As far as I've heard and read, both Versus and Agito are scheduled for a release much later than the release of Final Fantasy XIII. And since Versus and Agito will be released for a different system (PS3 and PSP), then I doubt they'll cancel each other out, or how to put it.
According to rumours I've read on the Final Fantasy Wikia, Agito may be released before Versus, even.
(If they wanted to release the three games on the same day, then they would've made sure people knew about it sooner, I'd say! xD)

they are releasing them in the same day cimmy XD or at least that's what the local game shop thinks, do you think thy might've been deceived? versus and XIII, they're already available to order, and you get cool stuff if you do it, seriously! might take a pic next time i go so you see XD haven't heard of agito, but it's almost 100% sure both versus and XIII come out the same day

There is no way Versus is coming out when XIII does. I've been following all of the news for Versus since it was announced, because I think it looks much more promising than any of the other FFs since the ps2 launched, IE: X XI XII and XIII. The production of Versus slowed to a stop many times and for decent amounts of time, full production barely picked up at the beginning of this month, so I can't possibly see it coming out within the next few weeks... XIII is out in Japan right now, and Versus is not. Last I checked, Square hardly believes that it will be finished this year so I really doubt it will come out when XIII does...
I haven't seen anything regarding Agito, but frankly I'm not concerned, I might end up getting it, but Versus is feeling like Square's mighty savior in shining armor. Simple knowing who was on the production team sold me the game. The trailers are absurdly better looking than the XIII ones were imo, and the comments that have been made about it by the production team make it sound to me like the best FF Square has dreamed up to date.
The other day there was some stalling in the production, apparently because the team couldn't decide on how to make the world map appear...
Yet further this tells me that the game is FAR from completion...
And to clear up any sort of confusion surrounding the matter: Square had ORIGINALLY wanted to release all three games at the same time, in fact in a international release. So all the countries that it would be shipped to would all get all three games at the same time. However after having to drag some of the Versus team over the FFXIII in order to help it move along, the time schedule got seriously skewed and Square said screw it. Also, "originally" means like.... Three years ago... So yeah, not sure how ppl would get that mixed up now...

then again, there's the probability they ARE selling it the same day anubis...seriously, it's already available to order, i saw it the other day in that store in the site i just showed you. it did confuse me, because i haven't read anything on it lately, but how possible is it for a store this big (and yes, it IS big) to have mixed things up? *shrug* your theories might be indeed correct but there's something to be corrected there: the team working on versus NEVER stopped working, the game's production has been in progress since i don't know when, both versus and XIII team would help each other from time to time, but they didn't stop their own work. that's what i read somewhere, don't ask me where though, it was at least a year and a half ago. i'll get back to you though when FFXIII comes out, cos versus should be in the store then too...i hope it does, i really do XD cos it'd be cool =D ....i wouldn't buy it then though -.- but it'd be cool XD

two things,
One, yes they never stopped, but Versus slowed to a crawl, it might as well have stopped.
and Two..... XIII is out >.< just not in America, there's no way Versus would come out here before it does in Japan, and it's not out there...
I could understand a demo of Versus being released.... but not the full game, not when it isn't out in Japan and Square hasn't announced a release date, and has in fact announced that they would announce the release date at E3 this year, and then announced that that would be too soon... >.<

but i'm telling you the full game is available to order in this game shop >.< i *saw* it, and the picture above? check it, i know mexico's expensive when it comes to games, but $1090 mexican pesos (about 90 USD) for a demo? nooot happening >.< maybe it'll be released shortly after, but they are selling it, i swear i saw it ; ; it's too cruel for an april's fools joke XD but i'll go ask the guys of the store when it's coming out and i'll tell you

Actually it's really not that uncommon now that I think about it. A year and a half ago there was a poster advertising XIII to be out within the month, look where that went. >.>
Not trying to point fingers either, just saying that it's quite possible, it would attract a lot of customers, no? To see something like that up. People would either be extremely speculate, or herding like cattle to get into the store.
