all in all.. i cant really see what you mean Krutsiey.
Icewind Dale is little to do with diablo. and more to do about Remaking Baldurs Gate.
while planescape was their idea of revamping the whole D&D conception of story and abilities.
KOTOR i dident feel was a BG clone. heck BG: Dark alliance wasent a BG clone (it was the Diablo Clone
ah but that doesnt matter.. they were all great games. the story was great though.

Yep. It has to do with your concept of originality.
Like I said before, Icewind Dale isn't meant to be a Diablo clone yet it was a hack and slash not much different from Diablo in the sense that unlike BG, it was more about character customization and party customization and item gaining then roleplaying as a character.
This is one of Diablo's strong points: the items and for a reason.
It's commonly known that in D & D, items take a step back than stats.
Yet Black Isle, instead of opting for a Bg + Diablo opted for a BG with less story and more annoying than Diablo without as much impressive or interesting items as Diablo.
That's why Icewind Dale didn't crack the same fanbase as BG.
Had Black Isle been a creative company instead of a good D & D using company, they would have made Icewind Dale the next big thing or at least they could have succeeded with two great franchises.
Unfortunately due to their over reliance with D&D, Icewind Dale failed to even be a remaking of BG and turned out to be BG Lite with bigger models.
Good game? Yes
Original game? No
Company's creativity? Not so good
Yep, I'm not denying that they were great games. Just not high on creativity or rather they were creative to a point but didn't build up on that

eh.. ok.
im not going to further argue this. wouldent make any sense. we both make great points.
continueing on...
i was going to mention blizzard. but since they tend to stick to RTS (and an MMO baised off of an RTS) they need to get some new material.

err... Thorlord, they also made Diablo (hack n slash) and Death and Return of Superman (beat em up)
They only had two RTS franchise that I know of and that is Warcraft and Starcraft.
A look at their site would prove that they made equal amounts of WarCraft and Diablo (4)
Hardly an RTS company especially if you consider that Starcraft: Ghost isn't a RTS.

Yep. One of their best is Death and Return of Superman that's why I mentioned it. It's one of the best Superman games out there if not the best.
Yeah, I failed to count the expansion of Warcraft. Lol, well it's probably because I've never played Warcraft ever.
Yep they're an rts genre alright. At least currently.
