There is so much more than that to the show. I strongly reccomend that you rent the first season and second season on DVD and at least give it a try. it 's a great show.
and btw, i was hesitant to watch it at first but once i got into it, it became my favorite show to watch.

I love Doctor Who and watched a bit of Torschwood too.
Have you seen 'Sanctuary'? It's another, a bit darker, british sci fi with Stargates Amanda Tapping as the lead character.
My other favs are Stargates, Top Gear, old simpsons, that 70's show is hillarious too
