Well it makes an odd clicky sound...... could it be it cannot see the disk and is trying to find it :/
If this is the case it must mean there are two separate readers for ps1 games (cd's) and ps2 games (dvds).

Mabey, i know mine made a weird sound trying to read disks, but you shouldn't have to worry til' it wont read ps2 disks!
