What is Love?
What is Love?
Is it simply a chemical reaction within our physical bodies? Is it just an emotion, no different than anger or joy? Or is it a unique bond that connects two hearts/souls?
I am a True Romantic. I live for love, yet i have found my heart to be bound to a girl who can only be described as my "hell". She doesn't play this game/forum, so i can be more specific if asked.
I made this topic to seek advice, as well as hear your opinions on this controversial topic.

There is already a thread that centered around this. Honestly, that would depend on many different things. I can honestly say that in the average human love has scientifically been proven to be stronger than the sex drive (Proven through brain scans while looking at a picture of the person that they love.). Now that is the average, not the always. And that is what my logical side says. Now I will say what my emotional side says: Love is caring for someone in such a manner that trancends yourself, and that is completely unconditional. Shakespeare once said that if you stopped loving the person you were in love with for one second, then you never loved them at all, with that I would agree.

Well, I appologize. I did not see there was another, original, thread on this topic. I will continue this thread and view the aspects of love until a moderator says otherwise.
Does 'selfless love', such as from a White Knight, have any limitations? Is there a limit of how much pain/heartache a person can go through until they crack, and love is no longer worth it? Or would that be abandoning the one you love? Is there a line between True Love and Self Preservatiom?
Stand your ground... This is just the tip of the ice-burg, and anyone can join in and answer previous questions.

You see, that is where things get difficult.
You see, this bond that we call love, is not something that can, if true in any sense, be parasitical, on the contrary, if one person is causing harm to another person in the relationship, they are causing harm to the bond and, ultimately, themself. The only reason someone would do this is if they aren't getting something that they want out of the relationship; not doing something can be as harmful as doing something in such a bond, and harm leads to harm. Sometimes, however, people have unreal expectations, and in those situations, you can prove your love by letting go of your love, for, it would be more beneficial, not only to you, but also to the one you love, to let go of them if they have unreal expectations, that way they can go through some self-analyzation and find out what they did wrong, and if they truly loved you, they should come back, as long as your intent was clear.

She has... A twisted view of beliefs. She hurts me, and she knows it, but she feels little guilt. Let me better help describe her...
Name is Ashley.. Does drugs, drinks, smokes, parties, believes in "Friends-with-benefits" and to top it all off, she hangs around manwhores.
She knows things she does hurts me, but in her eyes, they aren't wrong, so she doesn't want to stop. She's almost 20, and i honostly believe she won't grow up, and party until she dies.
I hate that i love her, yet i can't stop...

I once fell in love with a girl named Ashley who acted much the same way. Not quite 20, but she was very much the same way. She professes to have the same faith as I, yet many times does things that my faith says is wrong. I say so when I see her commit such acts, and she promises to change, but I hardly ever see her commit such acts because she is distant from me, not so much for the past 2 months, for that is when I gave up on chasing after her and found another, at that time she started flirting and flirting with me, but I shall not cave. I know how you feel. It may seem like this girl is the only person in the world for you, but for your own self, and your heart, you have to move on, or change her, but she will only change if she wants to, if she doesn't want to, you must move on.

I know that you must go through the bad times, but when the other causes the bad times and enjoys it, I think there's a line somewhere that expresses a limit.

No, but I am working on a hypothesis that perhaps a person's name has an affect on their personality through subliminal socio-culturural influences. (For example, people named "Bryan" usually tend to be extremely sacreligious or extremely religious with very few in-betweens.)

i would think that the parents that name their kids bryan have certain social mores that their child will naturally grow up around and most of the time adopt them has more to do with it than it coming from the name.

well... i mean pheromoes play a large part in how people get along sexually. desire and all that, which of course IS a big part of any relationship, even if they are waiting and blah blah blah. so chemistry will always be a part of it. anyone who says its all chemistry is just foolish and isnt realizing that we cant know everything and anyone who thinks they do is also wrong lol. yay for the x factor.
