Ok, well... This is more info bout her/us. And no, i'm not making this up...
She was lesbian. Based on her past, it's understandable. She was my friend, and i helped her through a few breakups. She asked about me, and we started dating. I was her first, consentual, male partner. After i learned more and more about her flaws, heartache came daily. Everytime she called, i'd be worried she was agologizing for something stupid she did, which was what happened 90% of the time...
Anyways, so i turned her Bi. And I admit, i wished i was the only guy for her, but I feel like it's beyond that. I think about her alot, and she's who I want to go to first for advice, or to vent, ect...
But... A hundred bad times isn't worth one good time... Is it? Regardless if it's love, or my ego, the pain is real...
Can love shatter someone? Drive them into depression/suicide? Or are they just making a mountain over a mole-hill?

Well, true, it can't help.
I think... What ticks me off most... Is that she has to act like such a good girl, and in reality, sluts and druggies would call her a loser...
Love is, no doubt, powerful. But who decides how strong it is? Who decides when it hits and when/if it dies? Do we have any control over who we love?

Honestly, I think that love is something you cannot control but just have to live with. I mean you can love someone for eternity but love someone else at the same time. It makes you want to give up things for another person but when you start hating that person then you wonder if all the things you have given up was even worth it. It's kind of strange how our minds work hmm? You could say it doesn't really exist because we don't see it but we don't see god, happiness or sadness either so how do we know they exist? Well life is just unpredictable, whether you love or not, you just have to live it to understand that it's your life and you are the one making the decisions in it.

Okay, I would like to say that, no we don't choose who we love, but at the same time, we do.
Very contradictory, I know, but let me explain:
We don't individually pick out who we love. It doesn't work like that. We fall in someone who our own completely original personality is fully attracted to. That being said, we can control who we become. Therefore, because we can controll who we are, we control who we love in a way, but we cannot change who we love without changing who we are.
And, yes, I have to say I have loved someone who I didn't want to love. I was in love with my best friend for a year. I didn't want to be in love with her, not because of any flaws of hers, but because she was so close of a friend. Also, I knew she would never go for it, and she didn't.

love is the very essence of a person brought forth for one person and one person only to see.
Love is elusive, love is painful. Love is cruel, love is kind. We all have it, but some never truly find that one true love.
I'd thought i had found my soulmate. He'd even told me that i was his soulmate, his true love, the one. He'd been the only guy to ever even try to make me feel beautiful. then two weeks later, he's found that with someone else. and it's painful, yeah. but from this i take the lesson that all good things come to an end.
yes, i love him still, but it's changed, you know?
and i know that i can never have him, because he's not the one for me.

I told her, I talked to her, but she never would give me a chance to date her, she would say she already had a boyfriend (which was truth: She kept a boyfriend for every different week and when she left them or got left, she found another one immediately after.), she would say that she just wasn't ready for a new boyfriend (ALWAYS A LIE! The next day she would have a new boyfriend.), or she would say that she didn't feel that way about me (Which DOES NOT EXPLAIN THE CONSTANT FLIRTING WITH ME DESPITE THE FACT THAT SHE USUALLY HAD A BOYFRIEND, THE FLIRTING WHICH STILL GOES ON NOW, EVEN THOUGH NEITHER OF US ARE SINGLE!). I don't ask her out anymore, because I am taken. I would never betray the person I am with, though I won't force the same upon the one I am with, for all people fail, and for love to continue, one must be willing to forgive when the appology is existential and sincere.
As for your question:
If you live for the love of anyone mortal, then your life will crumble one day. All things fail. Even if you find your soulmate and you two never break up or seperate for the rest of your lives, one of you will die. There is a love that never fails, but I can say no more of it, or else I shall go off into a talk about my faith in the wrong place.

What is Love?
Hm.
It is jacksh*t. Love is absolutely nothing. It is an abstract noun. I can not even begin to count how many people have told me they "truly" love me, and on that note, I've told someone before that I loved them like I had never loved anyone, or would never love anyone else, and I was lying. Not to her, but to myself.
My theory is actually quite simple. There are people who do not feel whole. People who feel like a part of themselves is missing.
We all like to believe that we are unique, and that our personality is very "ours", but the truth is there are many of "us". There is a "me" that each one of you will think of me, there is a "me" that I perceive of myself, there is a "me" that will belong to my closest friends, and one that will belong to people who interact.
Picture a bowl full of coloured balls. Now, imagine that you give each ball to one person, without letting them seeing eachother's colour.
When asked about the colours, in a group, they can all define exactly what colours were inside, because they all have a "piece" of the puzzle. Like this, I believe that we can only be complete when we know, from EVERYONE around us, what we are. But then, there's a part missing.
This part is the "me" that belongs to someone that I love, and that loves me back. That "me" that nobody else in the Universe will have.
Firstly define yourself. Understand who and what you are using those around you, gathering the different "you"s that inhabit everyone else's mind. Then, burn in passion. The day that love happens between you and someone, then that piece left will appear. You will then feel complete. Only by maturing to this state can you EVER comprehend what "love" is. Before then, it is -NOTHING- more than physical attraction, nothing more than raging hormones (meaning, 14 year old kids who think they understand what love is).
To love is to define yourself and burn.
Then, there are people who do NOT feel incomplete by not experiencing love. Then screw love at this point. Just go out, have sex and enjoy your hormone-filled life while you're young. Who needs stressful, painful love when you can get the hottest guy from Highschool in bed?

@End : I guess that's true. That kinda defines 'Reality' too.
@Riku : Your view is contradicting. You can't say love isn't real, then describe what love is. I agree, young kids don't know what Love is, but it sounds like you don't believe that I was ever in love, and I am offended. I am a True Romantic, and all girls will be put before me. There may be other 'me' but then again, I hope so.
If you let hormones control you, then you are nothing more than a sex slave/*, and should never be treated as anything more. Your private parts are called 'Private' for a reason.
Though jealousy can be confused with Love, someone who is insecure may feel jealousy or teritorial, correct? Or would that be lack of trust?

Well it would be distrust, no doubt, but who is being distrusted can change. It could be the people that the one you love is around that you distrust, it could be the one you love that you distrust, or you could distrust both. Distrusting the person who is around the one you love is called "worrying" not jealousy. Distrusting the one you love is jealousy. Distrust both and that is jealousy in its finest.

True, but everyone's view of reality is controlled by belief, not intent, though intent and belief can somewhat interact, and different peoples realities all collide in many ways, mostly physical, but sometimes otherwise, but their are some whose reality do not coincide with ours in either way. It is those people that we call "insane".
