What FF games have you played and how would you rate them?
Maybe we could compile everyones FF accomplishments in here for reference...
Ive played FFX and FFX-2
FFX was a truly awesome game experience for me, it was the first game to have a really deep and rich storyline. I had no expectations when I started this game so I was thrilled with how good it was. The story was believeable, such as the terror for the people of Spira, the love for Tidus and Yuna, the evilness in Seymour. I loved the battle system, basically because the last game like this I played was Pokemon red/blue which I loved, but it got a bit tiresome after 60-something hours, after I beat the final boss and watched the ending though. I liked the sphere grid. Music was good. I didn't like the ending because it was sad but at least they stuck to the "one of us has to die" sort of thing.
I would rate it a perfect 10/10
FFX-2: I haven't finished it yet, but so far I really don't like it. The music and overall theme is too happy-go-lucky. Like, there is no real threat for the gullwings (so far) except Le Blanc and her loser cronies. Maybe I need to get deeper into the game to appreciate it, but at the moment it's crap compared to FFX.

To be honest I liked FFX storyline but it wasn't anything really original, I was about to predict the outcome since I have played many games and watched a lot of movies that have a similar story with minor differences. The graphics upgrade is what I really liked since it allowed me to see how good FF games will look on next gen systems. Don't get me wrong I liked the game a lot it was great, but the game was kinda linear compared to the earlier FF games where you could fly or drive a vehicle anywhere. However I understand the reason this couldn't be done was because of the hardware or time to take to create full world to travel on, so they just added a screen where you click on where you want to go instead of flying to it manually.
I can understand why a lot of people didn't like FFX2, but I don't have any byast against pop culture or any culture for that matter, but those who do tend to not like this game. I am not saying that is the reason why you do not like it, but reading other reviews about this game come from other people who hate pop also dislike this game I respect the fact that Square-Enix are at least attempting to try something different, I can relate to that since I like to always try different ideas and although some people may not like a lot of my creations, some of them are successful and the effort and creativity is what counts imo.
I can understand if they only released 2 or 3 games of the series like every other developer, but since they have so many games in the FF franchise so I don't mind them experimenting or targeting a different audience to bring more FF fans together.

i liked some of the storylines in the old ff games but FF 10 was awsome. ff 8 had a grate storyline but i notested the graphics were a little limited. i would also recommend ff X-2 but i like story linbe of ff X better.

I've played FF 1, 2 (US), 3 (US), 5, 7, 8 (for about half an hour ), 10, and Tactics, Tactics Advance, Mystic Quest, and Legend (and let me tell ya, there's a stinker).
I think I only finished 2, 3, and Mystic Quest, though. I generally don't do 100% quests on Final Fantasy games.
Oh, and also Lord of the Rings: The Third Age, which I count as a Final Fantasy game. The battle system is ripped straight out of FFX. :

2 posts, but I've reveiwed all the FF's I have.
- Final Fantasy (Origins for PS):
Origins was good, the game flow appears origional and the ability to chose your characters before you started the game was a helpfull change to FF9 with I played before it, the colours although a little bland are just as you would expect from a world that was falling into darkness. I Loved every minute of gameplay, even the 50-60 minutes that I spend Grinding ready for the final battle agains Chaos.
RATING: **** - 4/5
- Final Fantasy (DoS for GBA):
The colours are exciting, but for a world being consumed by evil it looks better than what I see walking through woods near my house, everything, even dead creatures, looks bright and vibrant. The gameflow and story are the same as above, but without having to grind to get that bit of cash needed for your next battle it's possible to complete the game in the 20's as opposed to the 43 that I needed or origins. I liked it being portable however and it distracted me from many hours of boring car and bus rides.
RATING: *** - 3/5
- Final Fantasy 2 (Origins for PS):
The story is far removed from FF1, but the new improved and intresting version of a level up system is truely exciting, prices for even weak spells are high(400 for the 3 basic elements and 200 for healing) yet it's not untill you see how ever character who joins your party untill the end of the game that you notice it's diversity, White Mages, Black Mages, Monks, Fighters, Red Mages and more, every character class from FF1 can be recreated eventualy through the Per use level system, it takes a long time to reach levels above 8, but it's not impossible to reach 16 without cheating.
The only flaw I see is that even without using black magic firon can raise his INT while marias Magic rating seams to go up randomly while Guy gains Strength while using magic, each character has a chance of randomly gaining one of the 6 atributes without even using a related attack!
Even grinding offers changes, "Will you use the fire spell and kill your foes quickly and increase the chances of agility going up or dely it so you can gain level 7 sword skill before the next battle?", A true classic.
RATING: **** - 4/5
- Final Fantasy 2 (DoS for GBA):
The levels system has been "upgraded" and it is now near impossible to reach level 16 with a skill unless you cheat or repeatedly kill an ally with the same powerfull attack(revive them with life before the next attack you you can target them).
On the other hand prices are reduced and the leveling up random stats has been fixed(although now Guy finds it near impossible to gain agility untill maria has maxed her's out).
You can now cary more than just 16 items, but the 16 item limit was handy, you were forced to decide what was most important.
Several cheats still exist, but they are harder to find. The final boss has also been given a small HP boost although I don't understand why.
RATING: *** - 3/5
- Final Fantasy 6 (PS):
No atributes are increased by leveling up, and Locke has the uncany ability to steal an persons entire clothing instead of just a hat, but it has charm, a lot of charm. Every character is unique, from Edgars techniology to Mog's dances and Terra's morph. The restrictions on who goes with you at some points are annoying as your forced to leave your favourite character behind, but by the final battle every character should be maxed out and ready.
RATING: *** - 3/5
- Final Fantasy 7 (PS):
I love it, what can I say. The only true classic(and one that deserves 5 stars) of the FF series so far, Cloud is confused and at some points a little weird, but you should never need to grind for any battle, your just going about it the wrong way. The adition of 3D graphics was a huge step forwards in the FF series, the only mistake is that most of the minigames cannot be replayed, meaning that I had 7 save file(one infront of each minigame) by the time I completed it.
RATING: ***** - 5/5

- Final Fantasy 8 (PS):
I like Squal, but I hate Zell. I completed this game only recently(it got put aside untill I completed dragon quest 8, then I needed to start again), but I found it so annoying that I could complete the game at level 8! Every other FF to this point used levels to determine who was most likly to win, FF8 inverted this, using your levels to determine your foes strength. I like that foes keep up with you, but grinding becomes worthless if you can never get your advantage in this way...
RATING: ** - 2/5
- Final Fantasy 9 (PS):
ViVi, how cute and cudely and lovable and ..........
I dislike the main character being a theif. Warriors, Mages or Ninjas only please. Still Dagger(Garnet to new players) has some pretty cool summons, even if they do take some learning(and MP).
RATING: *** - 3/5(but only becuase ViVi gave them a bonus point)
- Final Fantasy 10 (PS2):
How many ways do I hate Tidus? Let me count the ways:
- He's a big crybaby who made me turn sound of only
because he was sobbing!
- The forced laugh made me loath his laugh every time I heard it(which wasn't often thank God)
- he looks like a monkey.
Anyway, Yuna was cute and the game had real plot, even it Seymor was more creepy than scary.
RATING: **** - 4/5
Final Fantasy 10-2 (PS2):
Sequals are something Square should stay away from, this one was disasterous! From the dodgy jumping to awfull plot, it's only saving point was the ability to choose your destination from such a huge list. Oh, and the neglegable reply value.
RATING: * - 1/5
Final Fantasy: Tactics Advanced(PS2):
Story sucks, but the battles are fun(although untill you get the lawcards you spent more time checking which laws you could avoid than battleing itself). I love 2D battle over silly 1D battle that the FFs have used for so long, but they didn't pull it of very well... Maybe they'll learn about this and may a better version in a few years.
RATING: ** - 2/5

Dark Cloud is not an FF, it belongs to the same group as Dark Cronicle, neither of wich are FF's in any way.
