Hardly, what I'm doing compares much closer to simply not using her, and using physical attackers, and 95% phys reduction on every enemy in the game.
This is exactly the issue I had with the game. Classes for characters are supposed to be choices, it should never ever ever ever be mandatory to use any particular class at any particular time. On that note, the entire class system in FFXIII bothered me. The fact that you can change on the fly and there really isn't any real motivation to stick to a class really killed it for me. On top of that the fact that I played in attempt to stick to a class, I ended up getting screwed over because I didn't have any mages. It's ridiculous. The only reliable way to get through is with a guide, and playing this game with a guide is completely pointless, at that point you're just doing as told with no mental stimulation.
Alright, I think I'm done being an ass now. The fact of the matter is that there are a lot of things about FFXIII that I did not enjoy.

XD well yeah if you play it like that your gonna fail...you dont need a guide you just have to accept that the best way to play and not loose is to change classes...very often...every few seconds sometimes really XD Now you hate the crap out of that because you want to stick to a class...and thats fine and everything if thats what you prefer...but thats why its taking you so long...because your refusing to play the way it is meant to be done....if you would just do it right then you might enjoy the story a little bit more because you wouldnt be so distracted and frustrated by the battles...I mean you still wont like the way the battle system works cuz its not your thing...but it would be easier and probably a tad more enjoyable that way XD

i think "forcing you to play a certain way" and limiting you idsi different form
a way it is meant to be played
you dont play an fps as an rpg
or a 3rd person shooter as a card game
itds limiting yourself, like playing doom 3 using only a pistol, why would you do it ?XD
my favorite zombie killing gun is a shotgun on games
but if im long range, or surrounded with limited reloads, im not gonna be stubborn and say i wont use the best wepon for the situation XD

Arc makes a good point. Although you dont [lay third person games as card games becasue there usually is no possible way too...But your DOom 3 and such examples were good XD

exactly though
if you TRIED to play a 3rd person shooter as a card game
which cannot be done on most exaples (although im sure a few pages of explanation could make anything feasableXD) it wont work

Well I apologize for being under the impression that RPGs are supposed to let you play how you want. No other FF in the series tells you that your completely ****ed if you don't spam mages. Neither have they ever had one, singular, proper way of playing them. FGS FFXII INT forced you to chose a class when you got a character and you could never change it ever.
ffs even outside of Final Fantasy I have never run into an RPG that wasn't play it how you want styled.

its not that you dont get to play how you want, its that you are trying to play it as a different game, like i said youre trying to play a different game, you are encouraged to switch between classes quickly (kida like choosing movess in a round about way) and think fast, to set up your team before battle with small differences int heparadigms that you need then utilizing them in game, fast paced and strategically
you want it so that one character can constantly do one job
and another can do thier own?XD
i dont think its limiting you
i think its just the battle system of the game
and if you dont play it that way, you arent playing THAT gameXD like any game i mean if i used only attack on ff10 id be dead
if i didnt want to have to use dragon transformations on a boss in bof it wqould be harder because i wanted to play it MY way nstead of the way it was meant XD
im just rambling now anyway XD
but you know you feel free to play how you want, its your game, and your fun XD

Whatever, this is getting really stupid. The fact of the matter is that I tried to play the game defensively, the game flipped me off for it, and my only choice, even without losing my save, was to start over, which is not an attractive option after already not enjoying it the first time and having to redo so much crap.

Because my characters were way to far in to the path of fail. Raising up their Rav stuff takes CP, which I clearly have issues getting because it takes forever to kill anything.
Tbqh, I would be quite better off just starting over and attempting to play with Ravs in my party.

Meh, I can look up the ending to XIII easily enough to connect what's going on. I do just hope that they fix at least a few of the things that I disliked about XIII in its sequel.

From the trailers I've seen, it has the same battle system. It shouldn't take very long at all to level ravagers if you haven't been using them at all. Any stat increases are inherited into all classes.

There isnt an end all way to play it or your screwed...but yeah you do have to switch jobs which your not doing...you can play it defensively...thats what the sentinel job is for...and btw all games do usher you into playing a certain way...even former ffs...there have been countless enemies that you had to use magic on or you would be screwed and only do like one damage at a time. Having characters glued to jobs is just as limiting and forces you to play a certain way as well. Like you wouldnt want to go into a boss fight in ff without a white mage or someone who had curing abilities...cuz that would be dumb...and end in you failing most likely...so the game encourages you to put a white mage in there...just like xiii encourages you to have certain party combinations and switch them up in the battles
As manudude said....it shouldnt be that hard to level up the rav job if you just put in the time....good luck though in whatever you decide to do XD

Yeah, i have to agree with Arc and Rukie here.
And as for the battle system, FFXIII-2 will have the same system, but tweaked.
I hope they make it so You can not get attacked while switching Paradigms, and that the first Paradigm switch is just as long as the others after the first.
(The first one like shows all the characters separately, which in a fast paced game is valuable time.)
