I like using
Red Mage, Monk, White Mage, Black Mage
Knight, Red Mage, White Mage, Black Mage
Knight, Monk, White Mage, Black Mage
Red Mage x2, White Mage, Black Mage
White Mage x2, Black Mage x2

I beat the GBA version with all black mages. I almost beat it in the NES version with Black Mages.

me too
plus even thought he's not has good has the knight, the ninja can wear almost anything.
n there's good enought equipment for 3 warriors, so theres plenty for the red mage too. (red mage also helps in the middle of the game where he can be profitable coz of spells and being able to use a sword when out of stock.
I really love being a redmage =P
ps: i dunno edge, i heard pretty bad stuff about the monk but i never had one. i wonder what they can do...

I went by my strategy guides way. It said if you have a Monk, don't equip it with anything, or it will hinder it's power. So, my Monk had no armor or weapons, and it kicked ass! It only got stronger on both offense and defense. My Monk was awesome!

I really like Fighter, Fighter, Monk, White Mage...
Lots of offense and once the white mage learns the Heal All spell your basically invincible...
