WHAT CLASS SHOULD I BE?
okay, i played Dungeons and Dragons last night, and, omg, im gonna cry, my character died, boohoo!
anyways, i wanted to make a new character, either a sorcerer or a wizard, they are essentially the same, i dont have my book right now that tells the different things for them, but, yeah, anywho, i also wanted to know if i should choose a half-elf or a elf, so, yeah, thanks

i take it you are playing 3.5 since you have barbarian, bard, and druid.
i would recommend a Melee centric Sorcerer.
chose spells that give you combat bonuses or require a melee touch attack. if your DM allows you can deliver a touch attack through a weapon.
get around 16 cha, but get tons of DEX as you will need as many AC as you can get
get weapon finese and have at least 12 strength.
if you have any points left, ignore int and wis and put the rest in Con.
of course get Concentration and... nevermind forget Weapon finesse, get Combat casting. (both preferabily)
you can switch it to wizard with some minor changes. if your a wizard you could switch it up to fill out a true caster role if you need to, but a sorcerer will give you the power you need in close combat while giving you the ability to use some simple weapons.
Go for Elf or human race, Elf because you get a weapon prof Long Sword, or Human to get an extra feat and skill point (you might need them as you will have a low number of skill points)
dont get reliant on weapons, if you want to get a better weapon, work towards getting the greatsword, you will lose your Finesse ability but get a character that looks really goddamned intimidating.
