What are we fighting for?
Seeing as there are 2 wars going on
(well at least the ones the media is covering >.>)
Are these wars really necessary?
(Iraq, Afghanistan)
I am against this war, and any war for that matter
What is our purpose for being in Iraq and Afghanistan?
In my opinion we won't win these wars, and we aren't winning anyways
I don't think we should be over there anyways

ive already solved war actually, just no way of spreading it. you know when you have a long day at work or school. just a lot or running around like a chicken without a head and like 20 hours in the day you get home and you are exhausted and you take your socks off and its just a rush of happiness and relief, if i could bottle that feeling and spread it forever, nobody would be as pissed off.
joking aside, as long as people are allowed to have opinions (which is needed) there will always be war (which is terrible). bottom line humans are humans and until we all become machines there will always be war i think. maybe machines fighting wars for us... but seriously, what a waste of money.
and right now everyone just doesnt even want to get into it because some people are just on such opposite sides of the spectrum. you cant even talk to people about it these days. and its not like they have their own opinion any more, always watching the news listening to everything other people have to say. all these "experts" talking about the reasoning and people with power making promises to poor family members that they cant keep. makes me sad that im a part of society as a whole no matter how much i voice my opinions. ugh/grr

Yeah I was saying I was against the war to someone and this guy overheard me and came up to me yelling at me, calling me a terrorist supporter :/
People really do get to sensitive about the matter, they just see the World Trade Center buildings fall and that to them justifies war on another country....well 2 countries at that
I like to get to the heart of the situation rather then listening to the media and such

well i mean. just this last year on sept 11th, all the news went through that day again. playing the old news recordings and it was crazy. i do see how it lead to war watching the events of the day unfold again. it makes me angry and im really not an angry person but i still wouldnt have taken things down the road they did. i know i wouldnt have wanted to be the president to make decisions regarding that day or the days and years to follow. and to be honest i dont know if i could come up with a better alternative at the time while trying to listen to everyone. it must have been a rough spot to be put in. Giuliani seemed like a hero at the time but its only because he only had to worry about new york, not the rest of the world.
i dont even know where i was going with all that but seriously, war should never be on the list of options, bc one day its not going to be person vs person or army vs army. its going to be technology against technology and once that happens without people the moral aspect is lost and all hell is going to break lose. the second the people fighting the war are doing it through a monitor as opposed to face to face, ill consider the planet toast. and honestly, we are on the brink of that change now. its terrible, it really is.

I agree, what happened that day angered me to, I'm not blaming anyone...not yet at least....
I don't want to get into that :/
I know alot of people were so quick to blame an entire other country
Was war really an option, to attack TWO other countries...I'm still unsure as to why we are attacking Iraq when it was Afghanistan we were declaring war on first...I have yet to see the connection
And who are we to bring a out of power because OUR govt doesn't agree
I believe that is in oppositon of the Monroe Doctrine
(I think it is that one if I'm not mistaken)

We're also over there fighting for the people in those countries, not just our own selfish needs which many believe.

i mean a lot of it does have to do with oil, and if we had it funs way and most other people way, we wouldnt even need oil that much now. we are just so set in our ways as americans being at the top of th heap. its crazy how people just strut around living their life and in reality they have no idea what is really going on in the world and how greedy their own govt is. the same govt that gives them that freedom. ignorance is the real enemy. id like to declare a war on ignorance. you cant fight for something if you dont know both sides/all sides of the argument. period.

Yeah but it wasn't about fighting for them when we first started
I mean we are there now, and it's damn near impossible to get out of something like a modern day Vietnam war (although I am sure Vietnam had more casualties then these 2 wars combined :/)
I mean if that's the case, that we are fighting for others to, then why aren't we over in Darfur trying to end the genocide and inhumane things happening everyday?
I'm not saying we should or shouldn't be fighting to protect others but still....
That wasn't the purpose of the war when we first went
(in my opinion)

DC is right as well. There have been some small reports about Australian soldiers helping to build schools and playgrounds for kids in Afganistan.
That is probably only a small part of it though.

I think it's great kids are getting a more then what they had
But in a way I know they are paying for it one way or another....
I know alot of the citizens who don't like the idea of our troops being over there though
And I don't mean just the suicide bombers

This is gonna be a hard post to follow, but there goes!
the war on iraq... war against terror!
well... dotn get me wrong, the countries are full iof terrorists... but thats not why theyre there!
America are there becasue they want world domination, and need an excuse!
let me explain, i cant remember the year (more detailed infor in the first five mins of this video)
But basically, there was a proposal that america should stage a plane crash and frame two cubans already in custody so that america had a chance to go to war with this country and "take over".
What i beleive is, USA government said "we need another pearly harbour, an excuse to invade!"
cue 9/11, see that link for all the evidence you need!
so they plan the whole attack, killing many of their own people... and for WHAT? the chance to go to iraq and get your ASS KICKED... not only that, you have the good guys, doing what you proposed to do for you, like oz developing schools, and brits getting shot by soldiers who clearly cant aim or see!
the war is WRONG and a fake and a lie, you went there proposing good intentions, but all you want is to take over, starting there witha large supply of natural resources!
thats just my opinion tjhough! i may have more to add to that when i think!

I agree with you Gary
And I don't want to sound like an anarchist because I'm not
I just think the wars are a conspiracy

yeah i agree with gary on that, it seemed that the government was all too ready to goto war, seemed like just days after 9/11.
the war on iraq was to get the chemical weapons supposidly hidden from UN inspectors, what weapons, have they found them yet? perhaps they were moved to another middle eastern country that they want to attack next.

Or maybe there are no WMDs at all
And it was days after 9/11 that the started the Afghanistan war, it was way soon....
Now we can't even get out of the war, we're pretty much stuck there
With no exit strategy
It's ridiculous...
