I have a couple of different types of master materia but i cant win. i have two magics mastered and i think one command mastered. what happens when you win anyway, i heard you get the desert rose and earth harp, but what do they do? Oh by the way does anyone have any materia combos that would help?

From ruby you get some kind of thing that you give to the guy in kalm i think it removes the timer in the battle with emerald
As for emerald i think u get a harp or somit you give it to the guy in kalm and he gives you a gold chocobo
as for how to set up the materia i will have to ask my mate

They are tough to beat even with max stats so I would say so. Plus I used a stradegy guide when I first played FFVII and they said the same. If you are level 75 you are not that far away from hitting level 99.

Were would you suggest leveling up, usually i go to the mideel area with the sword you get from the ancient forest (apocalypes or something) anyway it has three times the growth so i use it to level up my materia.

Morph those one ship dudes and you'll get a guidebook trade that for underwater materia so you can fight emerald with no time limit, beat him and get the Earth Harp, trade to same dude for all 3 Master Materias, fight ruby beat him for the Desert Rose to get the golden chhocobo. to get golden chcobo by raising is toget a black chocobo and breed it with a "wonderful" chocobo found in the Glacier region. hope that helps.

knights of round helps but is not essential,
it took me six days of trying to beat it without knights of round to finally succeed.
just try tonnes of different strtaegies, youl get there.

I wrote down the best way to do it a wile ago while trying to write an ultimat final fantasy guide for my to favourite games (VII & VIII)
This is how i did parts with Knight of Round, i cant find how i did it without(Luck i'd imagine)
Junction Knights of the Round materia to HP-absorb, and have a HP-plus materia for each member. Do not overstock on materia, for each materia you equip does 1111 damage to your character for the Airtam-Stomp. Give everyone a mime, and the person with the Knights of the Round materia W-Summon. Now you can make a never-ending chain of KOTR that heals your party, while also killing Emerald (so you don't have to heal, and end up breaking the chain).
