In the nighmare future of the 41st millenium. Mankind teeters upon the brink of extinction. The galaxy-spanning Imperium of Man is beset on all sides by ravening aliens, and threatened from within by malevolent creatures and heretic rebels. Only the strength of the Immortal Emperor of Terra stands between Humanity and its annihilation. Dedicated to his service are the countless warriors,agents and myriad servants of the imperium. Foremost among them stand the Space Marines, mentally and phsically engineered to be the supreme fighting force, the ultimate protectors of Mankind
On a distant spiral arm, secluded from the rest of the galaxy by a dangerous warp rift are the Tau, a young and technologically advanced race the Tau have succeded in unifying their entire area of space under one banner, this banner stands for a religious ideal called the 'greater good' where all people of the Tau have a caste and a job, all know their job and all perform their job the best of their ability so as to serve the 'greater good' of the race

Race: Mandrake (A people much like humans, but from birth they either have extreme intelligence or extreme strength, but are weak in the one that they are not gifted in.)
Wargear: Blade of Life (a golden glowing sword legendary to Mandrakes), Laser Crossbow, OaK7 women's protectosuit, specialized RaMM shield generator.
Bio: Born as a Strong One, this girl was an outcast, for a strong girl was looked down upon, especially one who didn't look the part, for she was and is beautiful and her muscles appear to be normal. She was raised in the farthest reaches of Mandrake where the technology is low by a family of Strong Ones who didn't understand discrimination. At the same time as when she came of age, the villan Grenaltal took over the Mandrake planet. At the time she heard of it she stormed off to fight him without a second thought, buying armor, a laser crossbow, and a ramming style personal sheild generator, she headed off, feeling bad for having not enough money for a blade, but she didn't stop because of it. She fought through many trials and finally came to Grenaltal's Manor. Seeing her bravery the Sword of Life appeared to her and came to her aid. Before she could attack him, however, she was blasted in the back five times and fell. The Sword of Life, being true to its name, revived her, catching Grenaltal off guard and she stabbed through his heart, but doing so fulfilled the prophecy of the Sword of Life, that if it ever took a life, it would never restore another life again.

Space Marines:Genetic super soldiers
Imperial Guard:Normal human soldiers

Space marines/imperial guard (the usual)
Tau: Shas'la=warrior, Shas'vre=veteran, Shas'O=commander
Tyranids:no ranking as such they have broodlords who are leaders and then the rest of the brood/army the main soldiers are the four armed genestealers with razor claws
Space Orks: Have a Warlord and his army of grunts

i know that but im on about the war in the tau section of space which is between the tau, tyranids, orks and the space marines
if you want however i can expand it to include chaos,eldar and necrons
as for the chapter bit i thought i would leave that to make things less complicated for people who dont know about 40k

ah. Well there are also occasional alligences between the space marines and the others to stop the swarm races like the necrons and the orks. we could have an RP to stop one of them so that we don't have to fight each other. Maybe a tyranid hive or a necron tomb world that was discovered.

Ok heres the situation: the imperium has been looking at exploring Tau space and making colonies on non-tau worlds nearby. the Tau have a problem with this but that isnt their biggest concern. a new Tyranid Hive has been discovered approaching their space from the warp rift near them and its bigger than any hive seen so far. The Ethereal Caste and the Water caste are working together to negociate a temporary alliegance between the imperium and the Tau to combat the coming Tyranid threat in exchange for permission to set up small colonies in their space. The Lords of chaos however have different plans. The new Hive, Lycan. are more advanced and more powerful than any hive previously seen, the great devourer seems to want a final end to resistance in this galaxy

Bio: Training with his battle brother shrike, Rataan quickly became a skilled warrior and a legacy among the Raven Guard, while just a whisper among the other chapters. armed with the sword of shadows, which is said to be one of two weapons made by founding father corax before going mad, he is a force to be reckoned with, even more so when he is on his bike, dark wing. he normally stays on the raven guard home world Deliverence, but comes out to battle when needed. When the Divine emperor sent him a message personaly to help out the other chapters deal with a tyranid hive world that was larger than the one from macragge, Rataan was forced to help.
