I actually learned how to speak Japanese a few years ago for Phantasy Star Online Versions 1 and 2 for the Dreamcast  All of the hardcore and friendly gamers were Japanese in PSO so I only played in their servers. I even converted the game to kanji text and began having conversations with them after a year of studying. Those were the good ol' days. If Seganet was never cancelled I would probably still be playing that game daily.

I started to learn Japanese years ago and just found it a hard language to pick up. Maybe some day I will go back to it now that I am older.

There wasa time when i was very interested in the Japanese Language. I could say some useful, and some not so useful phrases. I could also say some important words and could count up to 99. Now, I've moved on to spanish. It is 10x easier to learn, and in the us, It's probably the most useful language to know, outside of english of course. To this day, I have remembered little of the Japanese I used to know, but I should start taking lessons again, so I can be prepared for my Japan trip when im like 18 or 20.

I did japanese in High School and loved it. Had to drop out in 6th form though as it was messing with my other languages class...wish I could have completed it. I hope to end up living in Japan, lol. Best way to learn to speak a language is to emerse yourself in it...

I'm studying for a français quiz tomorrow right now. Its amazing how much i suck at learning languages. The ability to pick up languages is definitely a gift. If i ever get français down I'll consider myself lucky.
