You should...not sure about what you heard..but i kind of enjoy it. I was captivated by the storyline and the music in the game as well. hahaha, enjoy~~
We never ignore the existence of FFVII.. We claim FF8 as the best because it's kind of, Realistic..
I played FFVII before FFVIII and it was AWESOME.. Cloud-san's Omnislash rocked.. He totally rocked on Advent Children! But after playing FFVIII, i found out that the FMVs seems to be more like realistic than of Advent Children's..
I agree that realistic looking characters can be a good experience. However, FF is Final Fantasy not Final Realism.
One more thing, How can FFVIII be the best when there is FFVII?
FF9 wasn't that great and I really liked FF8 but I would have to agree that FF7 was posibly the best and it has alot of potential to continue.

Not all thing that has been remade means it's better..
Remaking is a way to make something new or to make a more recent version of an older thing...
That is what it meant by "remaking". If you think a lil further than that....do you think someone will remake something that is not worth remaking? The fact the a remake of FF7 is indeed very very promising...why?..coz it's GREAT

i mean im not tryin to bag on 8...even though it wasnt that great....i kinda refer to 7-9 as the trilogy..bc those are the 3 greatest games ive ever played....well i liked MGS 1 and 2 bettet than 8 lol but nvm that
First and foremost.....why are there alot of these 'Which FF is better' topic all over Funender? Especially in 'Final Fantasies' forum.
I'm voting on overall and facts (I dun rely on opinions unless the situation needs them). FF7 is better than FF8 based on the overall rating (this can be seen via):
- total sales throughout the world (check SquareEnix website for more details)
- ratings (?/10) from several famous and recognised websites and gaming companies
- several features of the game (battle system - materia based, storyline - complex and interesting, and plot - well made)
- Advent Children and Last Order covers the missing jigsaw puzzle thus making FF7 more recognized.
FF8 is better than FF7 in the sense of:
- better FMVs (breath-taking motion capture introduction)
- character designing (CG graphics prove worthy once again)
- BGMs (Faye Wong and Hollywood studios helped in the making) - read the credits carefully and check in SquareEnix website.
There are several arguments can be seen here,such as:
- Why FF8's Love theme story is not better than FF7's twist and turn story-line?
- Once they've remake FF7, then it would be one of the complete FF game ever - better CG graphics and improvements on the FMVs.
- Hello,based on the ratings provided from all the famous gaming companies as well as websites...FF8's rating is not overwhelmed by FF7's rating.
- Both FFs have their own qualities, if you ask me which FF has the best storyline - I'm gonna answer FF Tactics (most of us haven't really played the game,so they judge on something they've played before)
In conclusion, FF7 is better than FF8 (Fact) but FF8 has better qualities than FF7 (Fact & opinion). But shouldn't we say the facts are based on opinions? Why FF7 is better based on 'Facts'? Overall rating from gaming companies giving rates and testing the features of the game? Or is it votes from gamers all over the world that has brought to this?

of course FFVIII i played ffVIII and i love it! and then i played ffVII and i was all the time thinking about FFVIII an we dont forget about ff7 im only saying that ff8 is better and by the way..for the one whoi start this topic..sam_phang the question must be..the best final fantasy...not the better xD this is superlative..better is for comparing
