I'd say the Monk class is the best class since he can do up to a max of 16 hits while other classes can do 8 hits max before casting haste on them.
Thats all I have to say.

I'll always be a black magic fan...and I don't care how many people debunk it by saying that physical fighters are better. I do recognize that in FF1, Monks and Knights utterly dominated the battlefield with their physical damage output, but that was purely physical damage. To me, being able to exploit weaknesses and vary tactics based on your enemies, as well as jamming/debuffing and buffing, rather than just cutting or punching everything all to hell, is much better. It's pretty much the same in anything I play.
So I'm going to have to say Black Wizard here, since they fit all the aforementioned criteria: varying tactics, exploiting weaknesses, and debuffing/buffing.
So there's my two cents. XD
