Yeah whats your point! I like that type of class and he has the good skills in FF7 Cloud was the strongest fighter when usally its not the mai ncharacter who is strongest.
FFX = Auron (until end then its Tidus cause Auron is too slwo and i hate him for that.)
FFIX = Steiner
FFVIII = Squall
FFVII = Cloud
pretty much but it will vary depending on what you do but thats hwo they start pretty much.

Hmmm thats a toughie, maybe it's because unlike FF8 Square Enix didn't go for the classic character look? Most of the characters looked slightly chibi compared to other FF's.
Or maybe it had something to do with the Fact that most people couldn't figure out Kuja's gender?

IX contains elements from all the older FFs and yet i's probably the least cliched game of the series...
Thats probably why it's not as popular...
And the main character, like Tidus, has a personality unlike the typical moody heroes of Cloud and Squall!

I don´t think that IX is not popular, it is as popular as VIII was...
IX has many things that make me enjoy the game, even though the storyline (at least in everyone´s opinion) is worse than VII and VIII´s. One of them is the class/weapon/ability system (the thing I like most from FFTA too), and the other one is the fact of having a defined party. In VII and VIII you could have any character in your party using any skill/summon, the only difference were limit breaks. Here in IX it makes you think carefully and pick the character that proves being most useful.
Anyway, it is just an opinion... I like VII´s storyline over the rest, and probably VIII´s stat junction system too. But i still prefer IX.
