You said something about trying different selections and her still joining your party and I said it might be like the Ronso's on FFX-2 and their chance of giving you the trainer sphere. Certain selections might +1 or -1 or do nothing. Then at the end if its above a certain number she joins you :/

Don't have to be in Junon, any forest will do. I meant was that if you are near Junon, the forest there is good to level in while you try and get her.

Chocomog to paralyze it, Aeris' seal evil limit skill to paralyze it.
Strong spells : e.g. bolt 2, quake 2. (on the relevant coloured face)
Critical hits to it via deathblow command on the relevant coloured face.
Hack it to pieces while its paralyzed. Climhazzard is effective.
