I voted Tifa but Aerith is strong in her own way. I mean could you lug around a metal staff that's as long as you are tall? I know I would collapse carrying that staff around the world. Plus her special skill in magic.

Emotionally? Aerith, easily.
Tifa seems to rely on Cloud all the time, Aerith might seem that way to some but you don't see Tifa going halfway across the planet by herself.
