Ya'll guys, don't listen to anybody here that is saying that they are not making a remake of Final Fantasy 7 for the PS3. They ARE making a remake of it for the PS3, there's no maybe or what if, it is a for sure thing, trust me, i know what i'm talking about. Final Fantasy 7 for the PS3 is going to be the best * game of them all, HELLZ YEAH!

omg that is so wrong u realize how much of an accusation that is!? i really don't think ure exactly right maybe but not sure
because if u forgot i'll tell u in gamespot.com there i saw the technical demo for FFVII on the PS3 and gamespot was really interested after seeing a FFVII scene on teh PS3 and ask a square representative if that was gonna be part of a remake of FFVII game and square said no it was just a technical demo we made to show off the great graphic capabilities of the new PS3 so there! the rumors point to square making a remake but there is no solid proof of them making it

The tech demo was a Technological Demonstration. Thats it. It was used to show the capabilities of the PS3. In 1995, a tech demo of FFVI was made for the N64. No remake... And plus, Nomura (the guy who is said to be included in a remake if it was ever actually done) is going to be busy with other projects at least for the next five years. And even Square Enix made an estimate that it would take a 300 people team and about 5 years to remake FFVII. So at the minimum, it will be released in about 10 years. That's the bare minimum right there.
And last, the president of Square Enix said they wouldn't remake any FF game as long as the original was still playable on a current generation console. And the PS3 is fully backwards compatable. So all signs point to no remake. |

What if the game can no longer be found 
I totally believe ya anyway, there's no remake but was just curious how they would solve the problem of the games not being manufactured and we lose them. Is it possible to order directly from square and get them to send a copy?

Well, because there are so many people attached to the world of FF VII, and all this fan-talk and excitement about a FF VII remake, I personally, don't see why they don't remake it. It would bring new fans, AND old fans, alike, into the Final Fantasy world.
Final Fantasy VII, even though it was the seventh in the series, was truly the first of firsts. I think it's what really made Final Fantasy huge.
If fans are talking so much about the possiblity of the remake, and the sequels, and Advent Children are making them even hungrier... I just think they should make it.
Maybe they can add a different battle system, I don't know. But Final Fantasy VII really needs to be remade. I know a guy who won't play VII because they graphics aren't good. >_< So remake it! They're missing out on a lot of cash!
I think it should be remade. Point made, I think. O_O'

They don't remake it because of a few reasons.
a) most ppl don't buy remakes if they already own the game, and since most ppl already own the game, they'd just save up for XIII or something.
b) the cost to them is cash and time- to increase graphics, its going to cost like four times more than the original cost to produce the game, and if it doesn't sell as good as the original, then they'll be losing a lot of money. Also, on the time part, they are stretched pretty thin already, not for the amount of games they're making, but the quality. Higher graphics take longer to produce, so to make VII they would have to hold off some highly anticipated games as well as save others for later. They just don't have the time.
c) FFVII has been used so many times, even square is getting bored with it. FFVII, before crisis, FFVII dirge of cerberus, FFVII, FFVII ac(not all are games) they've milked it for all its worth.
The main reason is A from what I've heard in their interviews(question's been brought up alot). I mean, most ppl still own and play the original FFVII, and many polled said they might buy it afte XIII, depending on other games that come out.
However, in an interview with the ceo on G4, they said they're considering remaking it for the PS3, depending on XII and XIII's sales and their extra man power, so there's hope.
