heh... you guys should try 4x White mages on the original... its hard as all hell but its definitly a fun challenge
dawn of souls and origins is pretty dang easy no matter what combo you choose so i would try this out with the original

I've only played on GBA, and I used a Japanese version, but here's what I found.
The class structures that I like most are the following:
Ninja, Red Wiz, Monk, White Wiz (I used this one, and it works...very well)
Ninja, Ninja, Monk, White Wiz (not so sure about this one)
Red Wiz, Red Wiz, Monk, White Wiz (again, not too sure)
Well, those are the only three I think are really good. I don't use a Knight because knights are an extra burden in boss battles, and boss battles are the only really hard battles. Monster battles are easy, especially because Red Wizards, Monks, and Ninjas are very good at physical combat. I think having both a Ninja and a Red Wiz is a good idea because a Ninja can get good armor and a Red Wiz is just good at magic.
And of course, the Monk can attack with twice as many hits when he has no weapons on, so using Haste and the attack-increasing spell (Temper or something, don't know because it's in Japanese for me) on the Monk using the Ninja and Red Wizard helps the Monk do lots of damage with each hits, and 32 hits with each attack, which means HUGE damage. And of course, the White Wizard can cast protective and healing spells to keep this combat engine going, so nothing can really stand it for too long.
So yeah, if you use them the right way, Monks are the most deadly attackers ever to exist. They rule.
