Because ‘saving the world’ part is usually the entertaining part, and generally what comes after in storylines like these is a ‘happily ever-after’ part, which is not as much entertaining as the first one. If new enemies show up and different kinds of dangers come along after, like in the case of FFX-2, it will feel like an exaggeration in the original story, because the most difficult part is already done, and the people who saved it are now facing less dangerous and less exciting difficulties; of course they are able to beat them.

I understand why not a lot of people may not enjoy this game, but two things that I found interesting were:
* The new fast battle system
* I like how for the first time you got to see what everyone was doing after a crisis. Usually after saving the world, you never get to see what the heroes are doing after that event. |
Yeah. Except Square had to make up new problems (which were lame) to make the game even somewhat playable. I thought it was just stupid and spreading a little amount of butter over too much bread. FF X-2 is no good.

I bought FFX-2 because i wanted to see what happened after Tidas. Even thought he had the whole Luke Skywalker whiny voice that makes you wanna say, "But i was going to go to town to get some power converters," he was a decent character. I don't know what irritated me more, Yuna, the stupid sky ship, or LeBlanc. The music wasn't exciting but rather cheesey, once you finish a chapter you couldn't go back. The scenes were recycled. It was just not a well made game. I have other things to waste my time with then playing FF-X2. Thank God for youtube showing the perfect ending.

I remembered something else I like about FFX-2; it’s the Sphere Break, I find it really entertaining. However; it remains only a minigame no matter how entertaining it is, so I don’t think it’s a strong reason to play the game.
In any case; Final Fantasy X-2 remains a part of the Final Fantasy series; so just play it

I felt the problem with FFX-2's storyline doesn't lie in the part where they showed the heroes way of life after saving the world. I was interested to know how Wakka, Lulu and Kimahri are doing. I think the storyline messed up a little when the whole idea of Dress sphere hunting showed up, and then LeBlanc...-.-
They could have made it better like KH2, Sora and the gang revisits those Disney characters after saving the world once...and then detailed story about what happened to those side characters after the first game. Those side characters rejoin Sora and the gang and booya they go on another adventure, maybe not to save the world but something fun. They seriously could have done that to FFX-2, like Wakka, Lulu and Kimahri teaming up with Yuna, Rikku and Paine for a short time for a side quest or something.
I still don't get it, how come I can withstand a kiddy game like Kingdom Hearts...with all those Disney characters like Mickey, Donald...Goofy BUT somehow couldn't stand with LeBlanc, FFX-2's characters. The fact they changed the characters rather dramatically also puzzles me, I still prefer the old Yuna and Rikku.

Wakka, Lulu, Kimahri… everyone’s stories ended or were about to end, the whole story in FFX-2 is about Yuna getting her ending since everyone already did. All the new ideas and new characters were huge mistakes; Leblanc is an excellent example, she and those two men that follow her everywhere, forgot their names.
I agree with you on KH2, I am not a big fan of Disney but I really enjoyed the game. Personally I think they should have made FFX-2s story more related to FFXs, instead of coming up with new stuff that messed up the entire game. I am not a fan of Tidus, but his story with Yuna in FFX was wonderful, besides the entire story of the game, they should have focused more on that merging it more with the story of Shuyin and Lenne, since I am really into the theme of “thousand years”. I think the story should have been more sad and mostly about memories; focusing more on Tidus as well as Yuna, Zanarkand, which is supposed to be the most eventful place, and what exactly happened etc… instead of the sphere hunting, stupid useless missions and the … monkey related things.
I can’t stand LeBlanc as well and I still think the old Yuna and Riku are better; they seemed really spoiled and ridiculous to me.
