Nitpicks you wish they would have tweaked
Here are a few changes they could have made to improve the gameplay imo that didn't require them to lose any money since that is all developers care about:
Remove the "stutter" when you are approaching or leaving an enemy due to the animation of taking out your weapon and putting it away. They could have made it so that you did not pause every time since it happens 30,000 times during the game. Later on it is not as bad since there are more enemies so your weapons are out most of the time already.
It would have been nice if the mini map on the top right corner displayed which areas you have already visited just like the main map. I always have to stop and hit the select button since I sometimes get confused on which way to go when I am attacked and spun around by so many enemies.
It may have also been cool to travel while viewing the main map as well.
Allowed you to watch the FMVs in a station just like in FFX and FFX2.
A game plus mode like FFX2 so you could replay the game and keep all of the licenses from the previous game. Games that offer this not only extend the replay value, but also the fun factor by easily beating up on the bosses that beat you badly the first go around.
They could have made events more random, after a while of playing I already predicted that the next area would have a save crystal with a boss waiting in the next room, to go along with a huge cutscene afterwards.
Since you were running around too bad you couldn't actually move out of the way of a physical attack from an enemy.
It was annoying when you would find new stronger items in the shop that were expensive later on in the game, so you went to fight to gain more items to sell for cash. Once you buy all of the equipment, five minutes later you find another merchant who is selling all new items that are more powerful than the ones you just bought and wasted your money on.
Too bad more powerful enemies didn't jump out of nowhere to surprise attack you. When I could see a huge new enemy in the distance I made sure to get prepared first.
Allow you to switch weapons in real time (heh, reminds me of real time weapon changing from PS3 E3) just like FFX allowed. Even the ability to switch characters on the fly as well.

Nope I didn't meat the game, though I am sure it is tasty J/K I haven't beaten the game since I am taking my time and exploring the whole World. Yeah I am sure some of my suggestions may change later on if something new occurs. I had planned to edit the original post if that happened.

I'm with you on the weapon stutter, that's most annoying part of the game for me.
I would have liked better camera control. I'm used to it now so it doesn't bother me, but it would be nice to have been able to zoom out the camera without it aiming straight down at the party.

Yeah,I hate the thing about the armors.. wasted alot of money on armors /weapons that were good a minute ago but became obsolete in a matter of minutes.
Well I wish we could participate on those cool airship battles. The thing is the game is about war and politics, why not experience war firsthand.
Not much to nitpick though, i really love the game.

i totally agree with this, due to all the levelling up and sidequests, I kinda got confused with the storyline and it would have been helpful to replay some of the key scenes
