Yes i know, far from a serious topic and very much like the what are you listening to topic, but i felt that this should go here being as it would be pertaining to alcohol.
this is where you mention... recipes i guess, or stuff you liked/just tried with some friends. anything really. and i feel those that dont drink would naturally just not post here so it should be okay.
anyway... i like wine and i was wondering if anyone could recomend some good red wine.

I live in South Australia, pretty much THE red wine capital, so working in a booze store here I see lots of good ones.
If you like heavy wine then try and look for a Coonawarra (that's the region) Cabernet Sauvignion. For a Shiraz see if you can get one in the McLaren Vale region. I don't know how many aussie wines you'd get up there, one customer from Canada told me that there were plenty of our wines where he was from so, here's hoping... But those two regions are the best for those varieties.
The Limestone Coast also has some pretty good lighter reds like a Sangiovese or rose styles.
I don't know anything about American vinega..I mean wine lol *shrugs*
As for what I like to drink, I like bourbon.

ive actually had absinthe. the real stuff. someone brought it over. didnt really do anything for me after 2 shots worth.
im a johnny walker man myslef, though jack isnt far off. johnny walker black just has this great like... wood taste lol. miked with coke, fantastic.
and stap, i know there are tons of aussie wines at the places i got to, but im not a wine guy really. i got some bottles as gifts and thought they were pretty good. id like something thats sweet. the red wine i got was a little bitter. anything like that you could think of?

Maybe a Shiraz Grenache. They're very sweet. If you hae a 'Paxton AAA' 2006, get that, that's good.
Johnnie is good but just too well known for the good of scotch. Everyone at my work buys it solely because of it's name when Teacher's is on special for $2 less.
and i used to mix 7up with coke, that tasted good too
and usually... i chug iced tea...
that's about it i gues, ohhh, but a nice milkshake would do greatly too...
don't like alcoholic drinks, the worst i hate about them is teenagers forcing eachother to drink it, so you can be "cool"
i hated it whenever my family would try to make me drink alcohol, even though i don't like it, and my friends never asked me if i wanted to go into town during weekends because "You're no fun cause you don't drink alcohol"
<.< untill i started asking when they'd be going out and show them the power of a sugar rush...
i was the only one left with enough energy at 4 am, jumping towards the taxis while the others were throwing up, seeing double, and imagining the size of their hangover the next morning...
ummmmm... I've only had wine once really... I like drinkin any liquer really but some favs are Malibu and Hypnotiq (sp?) but sepperately... not togeather. And I guess I like apple Bacardi (sp? again lol) too.... lol I probly shouldnt be talking about this since I'm not supposed to drink XD

I recently tried a non alcoholic cocktail that was pretty good its called a Faux Kir its just rasberry syrup and sparkling white grabe juice.

even though they are pretty girly, i used to drink pina coladas when i was under age and camping.
also, johnny walker red is terrible in my opinion and black is pretty good but i only get it when its on sale.
hypnotiq is good but the proof to $ ratio isnt great.
and beer. ick. i really dont like beer. at all.
and i have no idea what the proof is for the absinthe that i had. its outlawed in the usa because of the wormwood (sp?) thats in it which supposedly causes halucinations. it tastes like liquorice.
speaking of liquorice, i hate jager. i mean i once liked it but just like vodka had it too much via shot form back in the day. lol.

its pretty stupid in my opinion. proof is double the percentage of alcohol a liquid contains. for instance most vodka is 40% alcohol and thus has a proof of 80. hypnotiq is 17% alcohol i believe and thus has a proof of 34.
i dont know why we need both things on the label or why proof even exists. its pretty stupid.
