you dont need to be that highly leveled, you just need lightning, lightning, lightning for this boss (though i was surprised that he was an octopus)

I think most of my guys were around level 23 or 24 when I beat it.I think the best thing to do is have a magic user that has a good lightning spell.

wow..the ds version must be VERY different....there were no crystals in the snes version (ff3) of the ps version (ff6).

I may have to get a ds if the game is THAT different.

A. It was NES, not SNES.
B. Yes there were. The whole storyline revolves around them.
C. The DS version isn't that different. It's just better graphics, gameplay, more character devlopment (not much), and the fact that instead of starting with all 4 warriors you have to find the other 3 (takes 5 minutes at the most).

A. It was NES, not SNES.

FF3 was on Snes my friend. And then the PS

B. Yes there were. The whole storyline revolves around them.

No. There were no crystals in FF3 or FF6 in the original US released versions
(same game obviously) And the story revolved around Espers and a rebel faction

C. The DS version isn't that different. It's just better graphics, gameplay, more character devlopment (not much), and the fact that instead of starting with all 4 warriors you have to find the other 3 (takes 5 minutes at the most).[/quote]

And from your description, FF3 on DS is completely different than the original US
release.

So..time for research. Please feel free to read the information the links i have provided for you.

Ref#1 will explain to you some neat info about FF3. notice the very top of the screen:
"This article is about the Famicom game. For the Nintendo DS remake, see Final Fantasy III (Nintendo DS). For the game originally released in North America as Final Fantasy III on the Super Nintendo, see Final Fantasy VI."

Ref#2 will helpfully reinforces that all my above provided information IS correct.

Ref#3 will perfectly explains that the game you are currently playing was never released on the NES. Nor was it ever released on any other system besides the Famicon before now.

I appreciate your "enthusiasm" at correcting all my "mistakes" tho. Smile

You're talking about a completely different game. That game would be Final Fantasy VI. I'm talking about Final Fantasy III, both the original and DS version. The original Final Fantasy III was a NES game and was never released outside of Japan. In America the numbers somehow got mixed up meaning that Final Fantasy IV was somehow made into Final Fantasy II and Final Fantasy VI became Final Fantasy III. I don't even need to see your research to know that.
