yeah i started anyway bc i had some free time. and i figure since ill end up throwing some money in the pot for the multiple winners, ill just do it on my own and throw out some tips.
p.s. it took a good 30 min, but i got 100 of flare, curaga and holy from diablos. soooooo worth it. junctioning holy to my elemental attack at this point in the game with 100 holy. well lets just say i won already. clock me in 3 hours and 55 min. lol

okaaaay... im in partial shock... but i've never done a speed battle before, and i'll be happy to beat Gary
the problem with the island closest to heaven and hell is that you have to be around the third disk to get there
i guess the only way you can really do quick lvling up at the beginning is by murdering t-rexaur with sleep
also, you missed out on your chance for 100 ultimas. i think if you mug diablos you can get a dark matter. it depends: ultima vs time...

um... i dont think so because diablos is the gf that lets you learn mug. so you might be talking about a diff gf. maybe odin?
and yeah, by the time you hit the 3rd disc you should be in your high 50's i think so from there you can just shoot up to 100 and the rest of the game goes by without hesitation.

I knew someone would say about diablos letting you learn mug. i knew what i was saying: you an learn it off bahamut too. but it depends if you have the time... and you can mug a luck-j off odin, no dark matter.
you barely need to bother going into lvl 100s at the 3rd disc: you could defeat U+G at lvl 50 anyway.
p.s: is it just me, or is adel the easiest sorceress to beat(not talking about lvl)

id struggle so much to do a speed run like that... im real slow with ff games, with 8 especially i like to make it a lasting, beautiful experience lol...have some amazing saves strategically placed for quick and easy access too

i used to do this with saves. id have like 10 different ones per game but it was hard since the ps1 memory cards couldnt hold more than like 15 game saves.
i now stick with just one save since most game i play no are ones ive either already beaten, or are games that arent as linear and thus i dont need a bunch of saves.
