to clear this up...
every 26000 years, our solar system passes through all 12 zodiac signs, a star cycle. ancient civilizations were aware of this and made calenders accordingly.
this cycle is broken down into 5 sub cycles(an age by the mayan calender) of 5125 years each. the mayan calender depicted each sub cycle to be defined by one of the 5 elements. (4 destructive elements, fire, air, water, earth, and one of peace, ether.
we are currently in the age of the fifth sun (the element earth), which spans from 3113 b.c.-2012 a.d. to be more precise, December 21.we have already been though fire, water, air, and now earth, the next is ether, or center. the mayans beleived that on the date of december 2012 that we "close the doors" of the fourth element of destruction and enter the element of ether, or the age of peace.
i hope that all made sense.
conspiracy theorist took this and warped it to make it sound like it'll be the end of the world, when in reality there should be an end to the destruction, chaos, and war. a new beginning for man kind so to speak.
i say once again, i hope this all made sense.

Yes, but then again, have the element stuff etc been proved by evidence of any kind? As in, any potential effects?
And also, London is hosting the 2012 Olympics.... it would be a shame if the world ended right after.... I mean, think of all the lost tourism revenue.....

maybe that's when it'll end
bomb the olympics and take a load of tourists with it...
it'll be played as an act of terrorism, giving permision to nuke the middle east, terrorists will get their hands on a nuke from north korea nuking the usa in return, the usa will attack more of the middle east and china will become on the crosshairs for becoming military dangerous, and still beeing a communist country they'll be blamed for things too, china will defend themselves and we got a world at war with several nuclear bombs?
i still think we need to join forces with penguins...
at least the south pole is a safe place to be
