many, if not most, do want to get fair pay for their work (just like the rest of us), but that doesn't mean that they value profit over their respective constituencies |
they sit on their ass on a realy good chair, thinking of what to do...
people that actually do any work get paid less for doing more...

in my eyes they're not pushing it enough...
if they did a lot of work, how could they let a war start?
how could the world have gotten into a recession? (yes, we're actually in one right now)
look at holland right now, in afghanistan they're burning the dutch flag because 1 politian is making a movie about the islam, the movie isn't even brought out yet, but it's already a threat to the country, if not all of europe
the politians there are too scared to actually step up, because a lot of people agree with him, and he can always say he has the freedom of speech, even if it would create a civil war, and make holland a target for terrorism...
if politicians realy do their work, how can these things happen?
as for my beeing cynical, the only reason i'd wanna be a politician, is to make a change, why is it people saying they understand the people get in there, but the ones that realy do get left out?

basically what it comes down to it that if good people want to make real political change (in government) they need to plan their entire adult life toward that goal
those who are already well connected have a huge advantage, so that means you have to be that much better
