Okay I was told that the first teaser trailer of this movie was shown in the previews of Transformers, but I didn't see Transformers
The second trailer of the movie has just been released and it looks good
I give you "Cloverfield" trailer 2:
the first 20 or so seconds (before he introduces himself) is like a summary of the first trailer.
if this was being done (the whole movie done with handheld cams) by anyone other than J. J. Abrams id say it was a gimmick but im pretty excited. thanks for bringing this trailer to my attention. w00t w00t

I'm afraid of getting overly hyped. I watched my show today(AOTS), and two of those famous people who get to see the movies early said it was pretty good. I thought it was just going to be godzilla again at first, but was proven wrong.
I'll wait and here what people say when it comes out tomorrow.
well, i finally got to see it. i wanted to go the first night (18th) but it was sold out of course so tonight was the night.
i went in with pretty high expectations being as j j abrams produced it and stuff and he does lost and tons of other good stuff, and second, the hand cam idea seemed to not be a gimick. instead it put you in the movie more. seeing something for a person point of view through a lense is way crazier than seeing something from 50 storys up or soemthing on a crane thats nowhere near the actions.
so.... i wont give anything away, i swear. but here is my review.
I was worried about the hand camera being so sloppy that you couldnt tell what was going on, but it was clear from the start that it was a professional behind the cam as opposed to an actor as they would lead you to believe. it is still all over the place, but its done in a way that a normal person would do it. the camera would folow the way your body moves but youd never really put something in frame the way you would with a tv show or... any other movie really. the zooming was great because id stop and zoom in on stuff to see better. like binoculars so at those times he was framed good.
as for acting, im so glad that there were no big names in this move which im sure was done on purpose. if there was like... brad pit or soemthing, youd be instantly taken out of the movie instead of being put in it. and actors themselves did a great job. some of the best acting ive seen in a long time.
the story was... pretty good. not a whole lot of explenations (which if they tried to do would have failed misserably) and stuff is said by certain individuals thats sounds real and gives clues to wtf is going on.
the monster itself was pretty unique id say. at first i thought it wouldnt have much time on the screen but it did. just enough actually, and even after seeing it, you still dont know everything about the monster. you can guess but thats all it is, a guess.
that pretty much covers it all i think. bottom line, go see it. its an hour and 24 minutes. it starts slow, introducing the reason for the video came and the characters, and then its a rollercoaster ride through a sh*tstorm.
anyway, that is all, go see it. youll be glad you did.
Spoiler:
just dont expect any resolution or even a happy ending lol.

well... i did a little research... just now lol and...

there was a ton of online ad marketting for this movie that i was previously unaware of. you can get a lot of facts here: http://forums.unfiction.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=23861 but for some good old speculation and the such, on of the stories made up for the movie which seems unrelated is a satellite from a company falls out of obit. some people on that site believe that the splash at the end of the movie off in the distance is that satellite. the time frams are pretty close. so its safe to say the creature is not an alien if thats where you were going. i know i know, less cool... but that just means we still dont know jack and i cant wait for a sequal. the director already sad hed be will to do another one and judging by the sales so far 41 million or something, i dont see why they wouldnt make another one.

I would only think it be from the sea obviously....and that it's pissed off at us for one reason or another...I was pretty surprised by the monster aswell...and I knew just by the beginning of the movie we wouldn't learn much about wtf was going on xD
hmmm i was on spill.com and i saw the review for it, and now im really curious about this movie
