I think it's broke...
I was playing Halo 3 when all of a sudden the 360 crashed and white lines went down the screen and no matter how many times I turned it off and on again or how long I waited between turning it on again would fix it. The console just kept flashing the red light at me whenever I tried turning it on. Any suggestions?

The red light one is the worst for a 360.
red=death for a 360.
Microsoft should fix it for free, but if you have a warrenty, I would use that first. Faster service with a warrenty, it could take a couple of months if you send it in.

Ouch, lost the hard drive, that is why memory cards are better. That is also why 360 owners are blessed with the removable hard drive.

as you sed bahamut man, every system has bugs. This Includes the PS3 especially. Bugs are especially worse for the PS3 because it's a $600 system and if you encounter a bug, and don't have insurance, it could mean that your money is wasted but sony would probably fix it. if you do have a warranty, i guess it's no big deal but i wouldn't wanna spend that much money on a system just so it would have problems and then I'd have to wait while it gets fixed or have another one sent to me which doesn't even guarantee that the new system would not have any kind of bug. You're better off waiting to buy the PS3 (if you're going to get it at all) until next year becasue then, a lot more of the bugs will be worked out of the system and they may even drop the price. -------> Hopefully they will becasue the PS3 is very expensive and it only keeps getting more expensive with the edition of the 80GB and the 40GB PS3s.

call microsoft. i don't believe you actually have to have a receipt. explain your situation, if they ask where you bought it, tell em you received it as a gift. they will ask for your model number, as well as the serial number. with so many 360's being returned it would be hard to determine if you bought yours from a retailer or through a personal friend. if your worried they won't take you serious, have someone older call. the warranty should be good till at least February, at least my friends was.
