what if you die when fighting the boss? does that mean you need to do everything again?

Yup stuff like that is perfect wingzero However the obvious answer would also not be the best one. Some people if you speak with them may attack you or something.
if you press "talk to the man" he could go: "didn't you learn any manners? i'll teach you some!" and you end up fighting
i gues you'll need to be able to get the quest either way, because not everone might know about the "right" answer, as for the boss battle, i dunno realy, i gues it's best to put something in the story line like: (lets say the party leader that requested the chocobos is called biggs) (hehehe, see the refference? biggs and wedge, members in all the FF games? ? )
biggs: "lets put up camp, we'll need to rest before we attack in the cave"
that camp will be considered a "save" point, so if you lose it could go: "you wake up at the camp you and your party made last night before entering the cave, want to go back and slay that beast?"
of course some lines will need to be altered, less obvious questions, maybe the fortune teller can ask some easy math questions to test your wisdom, slay 10 monsters to prove your strength etc
you really love to slay 10 monster huh... ...nonetheless it would be cool if you can write the whole story not just part of it....

i know, i know, i'm just telling some ideas, like, the 10 monster can be 20, or whatever, it's just to show some of the things that can be in the quest
and basicly, asking other people's ideas, lol

i'm writing a more detailed version now, i wrote the beginning for both the inn and camping to get a chance to get the quest, that way people that camp and the people that use the inn will be able to get the quest...
i'll post it in another post, if it can take the ammount of characters, lol
