I had to say VIII because they advertised "the first video game without polygons" which later turned out to not be true.... but the graphics were still groundbreaking, then again so were VII and IX. X's graphics were not groundbreaking, many other games had graphics that were just as good at that time.

That's a hard question to answer... FFVII has also been claimed to be the game with the best graphics for it's time, but I don't know... Since FFVIII also had it's more human-like graphic-style.

For its time, VIII had phenomenal graphics. I don't think any other Playstation game matched it, especially in the cutscenes.

you know that for a play station ff7,ff8,and ff9 had really great graphics but if it came down to it it would have to be ff7 because for a person who was the clone of sephiroth he was really cool looking in the cut sceens!

well FF12 obviously has the best graphics but for its time i would say FFX. it was the first FF game for the PS2 and i think the first one to have the characters show facial expression in the scenes
