Check for what exactly? I do see that Dazzard still has 4 gifts and Rage has 5 gifts. I just added 2 gifts to myself and it works fine. The new code doesn't have anything to do with the amount of items a user has. I can only assume that shadowknight is mistaken regarding the amount of items he had.

You could make it to where whenever someone gives someone the item, it turns into a gift since you aren't asking for anything in return.

but then you are changing items bc fun would need a regular listed itme, and then that same item with the gift status. that would double everything in the shop. im pretty sure thats how hed have to do it... and it wouldnt be good for the server

No, I disagree. In essence, those items are being traded, but as a gift. And what happens if the other person wants to sell the "gift" after they've finished using it?

Well, yes and no. A gift does not need to equal a "gift item", just as in real life a "gift" item doesn't mean its something that isn't usable.

You're correct. Items are related to the database by their names, so each item would have to be duplicated. Bronze Knife and Gift - Bronze Knife would be two entirely distinct items, as far as the database is concerned.
Item renaming of this nature jsut isn't practical... at this time.
