U decide if i continue writing!

ok here it is... it has no name as of yet.... u ppl decide if i am to contiue on with it

My story started here…or at least this is where my journey started. Outside in the sun, it was mid-summer and I was out side of my best friend Alex’s house. Listen to this beginning so that you may come to understand why I am where I’m at now.
“Looks like it’s just going to be another boring day huh, Nick?”
“I guess so Alex…. There is never anything going on around here. I mean it’s the dead center of summer and we haven’t done anything, right?
“I guess so, but aint that the cost of living a life in sub-urbs?” Said Alex as he throwing a pencil around unenergetically.
“Yeah, yeah I know. My mom has given me the speech a thousand times. Hmmm, do you have any ideas at all?” I said while I twirled the pendent on my necklace. My pendent was a black wing I could tell there used to be another wing but that was torn off. It is on a silver chain around my neck at all times.
“Well, we could go down to the park.”
“No, we’re 15 and the only people that go there are the seniors so they can smoke pot around that blue slide with the graffiti on it.”
“Oh yeah…that’s all I got how about you?”
“Well, I said with a menacing look, we could go down to the woods and look around there.” Alex looked horrified,
“Are you crazy that is where they say the murderer from six years ago took his victims to be slaughtered.”
“Yeah so, Alex continued to stare at me horror struck, don’t tell me that you believe all that stuff. And plus don’t be a baby. None of that stuff is real.” I said to Alex with a reassuring smile. But to tell the truth I wasn’t sure. There was a murderer a couple years back and the police did conduct a search into the woods, but if anything was found it was strictly confidential. Alex finally managed to stammer out,

N..no its not that I’m necessarily afraid it’s just that…ya know you can never be sure. I sighed and said
“Fine if not today then we go tomorrow. Will you have enough time to weep and worry over the night?”
“I guess, yeh.” He laughed but I could tell he was still nervous. We turned and went our separate ways, Alex into his house and me walking to mine 2 houses down.

As we walked toward the forest the next night Alex was as scared as ever. His blue eyes were darting in every which direction while my brown eyes stared strait ahead unmoving. We had to leave when it was getting dark. I had told Alex that we had to do it so that our parents wouldn’t see us walking since we had to walk right past my house to get there. But the real reason for this night adventure was because it was way scarier at night. What can I say I am drawn to the creepier things in life. Being scared lets you know you’re alive, ya know? As we got closer to the forest I ran a check through my head to make sure that we both had flashlights with batteries and walkie-talkies.
“Do we really have to go at night?” Alex asked hoping I might reconsider.
“It isn’t even dark out yet.” I said plainly, “the sun is just like half-way through setting. So it will probably just be dark when we get there.” We now were face to face with the rows and rows of trees that welcomed us to the forest. As we entered the forest there was a rustle o leaves and Alex jumped nearly ten feet. I turned ready for what could be there but all I saw was a rabbit jumping away. Clearly it was as afraid of Alex as he was of it.
“What was that?” Alex asked
“It was a rabbit. A little bunny rabbit, Alex.” I replied. “Now come on, I want to look around before it’s too dark to see.” He nodded and got up off the ground and without another word walked silently further into the forest.
By now me and Alex had been walking around for about half an hour. We had found nothing or seen anything at all.
“C’mon Nick lets go.” Alex pleaded. He was getting freaked out by every hoot and chirp we heard. “We haven’t seen anything and I doubt that we will.”
“Hold on, I feel like there is som-
“Hello boys.” Me and Alex both simultaneously turned to see a black cloaked figure about two yards from us. “So, he said casually, “Which one of you boys is the counter part?” Me and Alex exchanged glances. We had no idea what he was talking about. “Salvo, which one of you is Valos.” He said more stern now. Alex managed enough courage to stammer out,
“Listen we don’t know who you are or what you’re talking about.”
“What Valos, you don’t recognize your own brother?” He shook his head and pulled off the hood. For the first time we could see his face. The most notable thing about him was his eyes they were cold black with red pupils. Alex actually jumped a little at the sight of them. He seemed to be about 2 or 3 years older than us. His hair was straight and silver blue, it went down to a little past his shoulders. He had a long scar stretching from his right ear, right through his lip ending just a little under his chin in a diagonal slash. Almost the second I saw that scar I knew that this guy wasn’t afraid to get into a fight. We analyzed his features for what seemed like an hour but in reality was only about 14 seconds. He broke the silence by saying, “Well I guess I’ll have to use the test to find you Valos.” As he said that his unflinching straight face showed a small trace of a smile. That smile scared me because it wasn’t a smile like he was happy or excited; it was like a demonic smile. The type of smile that crazy people wear after they one of their victims.

“What test?” Alex said. I was surprised that he managed to speak this much to a man who had literally popped out of nowhere.
“This one.” he replied simply. Then before I realized what was happening he rushed at us. With a flick of his wrist I heard the sound of a blade drawn. I fell back and looked in horror as I saw him change direction towards Alex. He was holding his hands as if he had a sword, but there was nothing in his hands. He ran past and Alex made a short gurgled scream. Then I wanted to scream because Alex’s body still stood there but his head was cleanly chopped off. The air where the sword would be in the mans hands was coated in blood. I realized that he did indeed have a weapon, a weapon I couldn’t see. I just stood there, my eyes raced back and forth from the body of my best friend to the invisible sword held by the mysterious person who killed him.
“Now just to be sure…” he started coming towards me. I wanted to run, scream, fight him, or do a combination of those things; but I couldn’t. All I could do was to sit there and gaze upon my decapitated best friend. He grabbed me and rose the blade to my throat. I could smell a mixture of the steel from the blade and fresh blood from Alex coating it. The blade appeared in his hands then. The sword was of great craftsmanship. It appeared to be a claymore of some type. The pommel was red and in an oval shape whereas most of it was on the right side of the sword, then the hilt was normal but was black. The guard wasn’t normal and straight, it curved in a u shape and was wavy all around, it was red. The blade was also black and was about 2 ½ feet long. Then he did what I expected, he put the sword to my neck and pulled it across my neck. I could feel the cold steel and warm blood on my neck but there was no pain. I didn’t resist it because in the back of my mind I knew this sword wouldn’t or couldn’t hurt me. It was as if it was dulled as much as a sword could be dulled. “Just as I thought, but you can never be too sure.” He said after he slid it fully across my neck. My gaze went back to the sword. He saw me looking at the bizarre blade and said “Like it, don’t you? This is as much a part of you as you to it.” I pulled my eyes away from the sword. “Hey don’t pretend as though you don’t want it. Even if this sword killed your friend you will always be drawn to it.”
“Who are you?” I say. He chuckles,
“Wouldn’t you like to know.” He replies.
“Yes actually, I would.” I yell back. The crazed smile slips off his face and he says back,
“Well then why don’t you find out for yourself” he threw the sword to me and drew another. The other sword is almost identical. It was still another finely crafted claymore. The only differences are that the pommel goes to the left instead and it is white, the hilt was the same except light blue, the guard was wavy like the one he gave me but was an upside down u, that was white. The blade was light blue and identical in shape and size to mine. “I’m Lavos.” He says. “Memorize it.” And with that he charged at me. I jumped out of the way and tried to counter with a swing of my own, but he blocked it and swung toward me again. I parried it aside and kicked him in the stomach. I don’t know how or why but some fighter inside of me took over. I wasn’t controlling my body anymore the voice inside of my head told me where to go, when to swing, and when to block.
“I guess I’m more of a challenge than you expected, huh Lavos? I say his name with extra emphasis after rolling out of the way of one of his attacks.

“No you’re just as I had expected, your blade Malvag is doing the work for you. You have no skill of your own. I haven’t even been trying.” I looked at him shocked. I had been trying my hardest to keep up with his blows and he hadn’t even been trying. I chance a quick look at the sword and sure enough the name Malvag is etched across the guard. For the next fifteen minutes I kept trying to land a hit on him. Finally as he does a 360 trying to hit me in a swirl, I counter it and his sword goes flying out of his hand. By now I was breathing heavily from all of the dodging and countering. He notices my heavy breathing and says, “I see you’re getting tired?” His breath is steady; this hasn’t even been the tiniest bit of a challenge for him. “Well I wouldn’t want to tire you out too much.” he says. “Let’s tie this up then” he says and yells the word, “Flare!” A fire ball shot out of his hand. I jump to dodge it, when I look back he has already reached his sword. He pulls it out of the ground and says “In another place and time counter-part.” Before I have time to question anything more he yells, “Dimensia!” A giant dark purple sphere hovers about five feet from us and a gust begins to pulls me into it. He just sits there with his arms crossed, that psycho smile is back on his face as he watches me try to pull and hold on from being pulled into the sphere. I see him create a smaller one and he enters it and disappears along with it. I could hold on no longer, I was ripped from the mossy log I latched myself onto. As I enter the sphere I see the rest of the world cloaked in a purple haze. I notice that along with me the sphere also pulled in a tree, the sword Malvag, some litter in the forest, a patch of grass, and Alex’s body and head. I see these items for about 10 seconds before the world starts to spin rapidly. I shut my eyes and wonder why all these horrible things happened to me on the one day I wanted things to go good for me. I open my eyes and the spinning is slowing down then there is a great burst of light. I suddenly get hit by the tree that is in the sphere. I am barley holding myself conscience when I hear the voice of the person who can be simply described as the person who destroyed my life and sent me flying into this sphere with an uncertainty of living or dying, Lavos. His voice is very faint as I drift into unconsciousness, but I can make it out. He says,
“We will meet again, and by the way happy birthday.” His cold voice saying that still echoes in my head now. I say sarcastically,
“Yeah, happy birthday to me.”
When I wake up at first I forget everything that happened. Then as I open my eyes and they land upon Alex’s body it all comes back to me. I pick up my sword and look around. I am on a hill in what looks like a small desert, but I can see a town not too far away. Now that I have some time I bury Alex and mourn him. Then it all hits me. It was my fault I told Alex to come with me. If I hadn’t pushed him to go then he’d be fine now. That thought hits me like a brick wall. I spend two days at that desert hill, doing nothing except just thinking. In short what I came up with was – I have no idea where I am, I have no idea how to get back, I have no idea what is going on, and I have no idea what to do now. Eventually I decided that the town was my best option. It looked like it would be about a 5 hour walk. I gathered everything I could (which was nothing but the cloths on my back and the sword.) and set off.

I really didn’t notice until about 3 ½ hours into the walk that I hadn’t eaten and drank for at least 50 hours. When I came across a small oasis I was so relived. I drank as much as I could and was about to continue on when I noticed my reflection. I had changed, I had gotten taller and I looked older. I tried to brush it off and continued on my journey into town. Finally I reached the town. I entered with sword in hand since I didn’t have a sheath. I didn’t get 10 minutes into the town when a woman approached me she said,
“It is he who carries the black blade of evil!” She was of course talking about my sword. When she yelled this people were alerted to my presence. People started to murmur things like,
“It is he, it is Valos!” or,
“He carries the black blade, do you see?”
After people were watching me walk with the black sword someone finally made their way through the crowd and approached me. He was probably a year or two older than me. He said,
“Valos, the wielder of the black blade?”
“Who are you and what’s going on and why is everyone calling me Valos and the black blade wielder?” I retorted. He looked surprised,
“You mean you don’t know about that blade or your destiny?” he said awestruck.
“I really have absolutely no idea what your talking about.” I replied.
“My name is Vince, come with me and I will tell you what you need to know.”
“No, tell me here and now. I’m tired of not knowing what’s going on, I want to know now!” I said yelling. Vince then said calmly,
“You must be Valos because as the prophesy says, you wield the black sword.” He saw that I was ready to ask him what all this black sword and Valos stuff meant, but before I could say anything he said, “You are Valos, our savior.”

“Wh-what?” I struggle out. “Me a savior, how can that be? Are you sure it’s me. How do you know me? Why are you calling me Valos. Where am I? Why do I look different?”
“So many questions, well you’d best come with me.” Vince said, and then he began to walk out of the cluster of people that surrounded me and him. I looked around confused and then hurried along with him, not knowing what was to come next. We were walking toward the back of the town, it was then I got a good look of the town. There was a big circle like carving taken out of a canyon. That was where the town was located; I’d say that it was probably 1 ½ or 2 square miles big. They were pretty much protected from three sides. It was strange that most of the houses and shops and whatever else was located in the very center, there were very few who strayed from the center. As we were walking I remembered just how hungry I was. I must have forgotten because of all the excitement. I tried to keep my mind off of it by asking,
“So what’s the name of this town?”
“Canyon’s Rip.” He said without looking back. Suddenly my mind went back to food as I saw one of the few residents outside of the center eating. His house sat upon a hill, the only hill I’ve seen in that town. He was sitting there in an old rocking chair; his beard almost reached his knees. As if Vince was reading my mind he said, “We’ll get you some food at the Sand Song once we’re done.”
“Sand Song?” I said
“It’s one of the inns around here; we’ll get you a room and some food. Only the best for you.” he said sarcastically. Before I could say anything more he said, “And in case you’re wondering that was old Clavump over there in his rocker.”
“Uhhh ok…. Is he important?” I asked completely confused to why he was brought up.
“He is an extremely powerful mage. We usually seek his guidance if there is a big problem, other than that he just sits up there watching the town. I trained under him.”
“Wait, a mage?” I said unsure if he was playing a trick on me.
“Yes a mage.” he said getting a little irritated with my questions, “Whatever you want to call them mages, wizards, druids, mystics.”
“And he does magic?” I asked not realizing how completely stupid I sounded.
“Yes, Magic. M A G I C.” he saw I still had a puzzled look on my face. He sighed, “Here watch.” He turned to me and held out his right hand and like this was nothing short of amazing said, “Ember.” A ball of flame like the one thrown at me by the Lavos in the woods. The only difference was this was smaller and didn’t seem as powerful, but it was still amazing. He pointed at a bush and said, “Watch.” He threw the ball of flames a t the bush and it caught fire and burnt. “Magic.” He said and kept on walking. We were approaching the back where the canyon wall was. There was a carved staircase that led to an opening in the canyon wall. As we started to climb the stairs I couldn’t hold the question in any longer.
“Can you teach me?”
“Teach you what?” he said casually
“You know,” I said, “Magic.”
“Well I was gonna let the master Clavump teach you since your important, but if you’d rather have me then ok
He turned and smiled “Clavump will find you tomorrow.“
